Nene Park... Again

Hi Guys,
It's the bloke who runs that fan owned blog again. Just want to say good effort against Hendon but they could do with the cash more than you I think but mainly looking at Ralph's comments regarding Nene Park on twitter and he is pretty mad.
The developer at their 'public consultation' is claiming the support of the club for their development despite them not having your clubs blessing and also saying you will have a pitch at the back despite not having spoken to Ralph once.
Anyway, I wish you all the best for the rest of the season and eventually going home under your terms.

Edward.

I think certain people involved in all of this think we're mugs !! We've already danced with the devil, he had his wicked way with us and cast us aside, why would we consider crawling back into his bed?

They can do what they like with it, but while certain people are still involved I'd certainly want nothing to do with the place. If these developers have no links to "them" I'd like to see it proven and even then I doubt I'll believe it!!

So is there something we are not being told? According to Andy Sawford MP:

"Emerging Proposals for Nene Park

As the outline scheme for the development of Nene Park, Irthlingborough, becomes available for public viewing at Huxlow Science College today and Saturday, I met this week with Jon Ward and John Gregory of AFC Rushden & Diamonds to talk about their interest in the proposals. I think it is very important that football remains part of the future for the site and it was good to hear how deeply this club is rooted within the community in this part of East Northamptonshire (I have just signed up as a member!). It seems to me that the club is realistic about financial viability and pragmatic about how it might go about seeking a base – hosting its 34 teams at a single location would be an immense challenge. I will continue to seek to make sure that any development incorporates sporting facilities that will be valued by local people. "

I doubt it - they probably went along to look at the proposals - any move of ground will need to be voted on by members anyway, I'd say the board would be negligent if they didn't explore and consider every option for the future. I wouldn't read too much into what was said there personally and I trust the board to put any proposals to its members at the right time!!

I posted this last Friday on the Members Forum. Jon and John were invited by Andy Sawford to his office in Corby for discussions, after receiving our Open Letter last month. Andy was so impressed he has joined as a Member.
