I am not sure if this is true, but, it seems that the chairman of Oadby Town has stepped down. A great time to be visiting us at the D&D, we can demolish them. :D

Not surprised if true. He orginally decided to stand down, around the time of Jeff Stocking's departure in May, only being persuaded to stay on at Oadby's AGM in June. Perhaps he's now recognised this is a thankless task with their poor results and a struggle to attract the quality of player required and it wouldn't surprise me to see them make a quick return to Division 1.

We need to put them to the sword and exact some revenge for that reverse in January 2013.

I for one have no sympathy for him at all, if at the end of the 2012/13 season when the manager walked after the infamous Olney game, he had accepted my application for the vacant position things may have been so different for him and the Club. ;)

Are you going to stand by their dugout barking out instructions Brownie? Just to show them what they missed out on

Yes as long as the dugout is positioned by the bar. It's all history now, what may have been & all that. Mr Fotherington-Smyth even ignored me when I asked him about my application at Oadby's last ever game in UCL 1 at Wootton, though it wasn't was it, after all they didn't actually win the league or get promoted, and looks like they may be making a swift return this season. Amazing isn't it not a single person at that Club had realised its sometimes best to keep your f in mouth shut till the big fat bird starts to loosen her vocal cords.

I wasn't sure if I was getting to this one earlier in the week, but now I'll be in attendance I really hope that some of those Oadby fans we came into contact with back in January '13 can make their way down for this one. It's an international week so Leicester aren't playing, no excuses...

I wonder if this "Owen Jones" person is one of those who was trying to tell us the laws of the game when they visited the D&D last time. You'd think at least he'd do some basic proof reading, starting with the first sentence - although the rest of the drivel he writes is of a similar standard. He could also update anything he's cut and pasted from his archive, to avoid lines like "they managed to get registered for the UCL this season".

Suggesting the old R&DFC had a high turnover of managers is also rather ironic given the changes they've seen at Oadby in the last 18 months.

The comment that we are stagnating in the UCL is also rather ironic from a club that transferred leagues to try and find success, and is now accepting that the most they are aiming for is to remain at Step 5.
