Rounding up

I bought two coffees just after half time and was charged £3.00. I left school in 1984 and two times £1.20 were £2.40. I went back to complain and was informed that as there was no change there they were rounding it up. How many other people were charged more than necessary because the till had no change in it?

I was given back a pound though after complaining.

The last couple of weeks the standard has been poor. I didn't go today, but against Gateshead there was no ketchup or diamond burgers

At work a cup of freshly ground coffee costs the equivalent of 30p. So £1.20 is a bit pricey for a cup of instant. At that price i'm sure they can well afford to round down.

Things have changed considerably since you were at school, 2 x £1.20 is now actually £3.00, the snack bar staff were spot on. ;)

They always seem to run out of Diamond burgers and cokes before the end of HT. Whilst I can understand the burgers to a degree (perishables that would go off), to run out of the most popular soft drink, a bottled one at that, consistently means someone is doing something wrong in terms of the stock. It's not as if not selling it one week prevents it from going on sale the following week. (also looked like they made too many of the other burgers this week).

Still at least it is the catering we are complaining about these days much more than what is on the pitch.

That must be down to the fact we used slates and stone in my schooldays ;)
