The last few performances I've witnessed have been abysmal! For the money we have payed out on players we should have cruised this league! I'm afraid to say it but I think that Andy Peaks is starting too lose the dressing room and is failing to get the best out of his players! My opinion is my opinion, I'd like to hear yours? Thanks DeBankeFaithful

Interesting first post.

Sounds like you have inside information judging by your comment regarding 'money PAID out to players' or is this just your assumption? Personally, I havn't a clue what we pay/have paid and I have never ever seen it discussed on this forum or the members forum.

I don't think we need to be discussing Andy Peaks tenure as manager, but more so discuss the idiot who makes this his first post!!!

My opinion is that you are just trotting out things you have heard on Sky Sports without knowing what they actually mean.

What evidence do you have that he has lost the dressing room?
Who is getting paid how much?
Why should this league have been cruised? The standard is much higher than the UCL, which was cruised.

Perhaps that gave you false expectations and a slewed idea of the standard of the respective leagues in the non league pyramid.

My opinion of Peaksy is he has a real passion for our club and he's a good and honest man who is on track to deliver what he was asked to do by the board at the start of the year - a top 5 finish and deliver on budget. As far as I'm aware he's delivering on both fronts.

Do I like the run we're on - no I don't ! I'm
Sure Peaksy is hurting as well - in fact I know he is! Do I think we can turn it around? Yes I do!

Maybe some players need to look at themselves and ask the question "have I done enough?" - I appreciate the manager picks the team and sets the tone - but players have to deliver too, some haven't recently.

Peaksy has my total support until the end of the season, and then the board have my full support with whatever decision they make in the Summer - whether that's to stay as we are or make changes. To even contemplate a change of manager now, as I have heard some suggest, is plain daft in my opinion. Look at the past 2 years - we've been fed a diet of success! Sometimes things get tough, it doesn't always go your way - then you need to show some back bone and help each other through! We now need to see who is prepared for the fight!

The title has gone, I'm fairly sure of that, but looking at the results of other clubs recently it's game on for 2nd and 3rd places and a home advantage in the play offs - but we have to improve greatly! The draw yesterday was better, it'll come! That could herald the end of our barren run (I hope so!).

2 wins and we'll be in the mix again - they "should" come this week. We'll see I guess!

I don't get to as many games as I used to, but the performance I saw at Royston was pretty poor, and looking at results since then it doesn't seem to have got much better.

However I don't buy into this "Peaksy Out" line of thinking. I don't think we were ever going to "cruise" this league, pretty sure we would have all taken the play-offs back in August and the play-offs are still achievable. Granted at one stage we looked on course to win the league but our blip/dip in form has come just at the wrong time just as other team's form has improved.

I ask the people who are suggesting a change of manager who they'd like to see come in who at this stage in the season or next season? Surely a manager who won a league and couple double and who up until about the end of February (when we beat St Ives) was doing a good job doesn't suddenly become unsuitable for the job?

We are not Rushden and Diamonds we are AFC R&D, a club run by volunteers and paid for and supported by the money that comes through the turnstiles, shirt sales, raffle tickets and quiz nights etc. So I don't think we have paid any for any players.

I would say perhaps some players may be on some more money than I would be comfortable with for this level, but that's just football at this level. Anything lower than the National Leagues players should only be getting petrol money and maximum £30 to pay for a post match takeaway/ few beers. However with the way football is a whole there would be very few players who would continue to play- sad but a fact. So AFCR&D are no different in having to pay a "wage" to players.

The turn over of players in recent weeks does seem to be a bit odd I will say that, but I still believe you have to give Andy Peaks until the end of the season at least. If we reach the play-offs, which is still a possibilty looking at some of our up coming fixtures then this season should be deemed a success.

You have to take the ups and downs of following a football team at this level, they'll be sh*t games rubbish runs of form and even relegations but then they'll be promotions, trophies and entertaining games. So stick with it and lets judge Andy Peaks and the players come the end of April. It would be a boring world if everyone was a glory supporter only sticking with their team when they win- that would make you as bad as the people born and bred in Northants who "support" Man Utd!

I agree with the people who are advocating that we wait till the end of the season before analysing our performances this year and deciding how to go forward.

We could still scrape a play off place and a promotion if we get some luck. Most people on here at the start of the season wanted consolidation and over the whole season we've got more than that.

Troll or not, I couldn't care less to be honest or whether this is a genuine fan who knows? I don't know why people think we would/should cruise this league.. What right as a club should we have to win the league or even get promoted in the first season.. Like others have said we are AFC, a NEW club so ain't no better than the likes of st Ives, Royston or in fact anyone from the league.

I can't be bothered in trailing through the topics to find the laughable posts when Stevenson joined. Someone said along the lines of that should make us champions? Hmmm :hmmm:

Due to my dad being in hospital I ain't attended a game since beaconsfield January, but been glued to Twitter every Saturday I certainly too ain't in the peaks out army. Every team has its blips but with every game still to play for the chance is always there.

I may get shot down for this, but personally whether they make the play offs and lose out. Or even lose out altogether I would be happy with another season or two at this level. I can only imagine what it would be like if they scrape promotion but it's a jump too far too soon. I didn't expect anywhere near this in the first season in this league, would rather gain stability than being in a potential relegation battle all year!
