The Financial Reality in playing at a higher level

I don’t know how many have seen this recent article in the EDP but a club that we rubbed shoulders with last season and took 4 points off, King’s Lynn Town, are doing rather well in the National League North unlike our friends up the A6 but this is coming at a big price. Interesting to see what it takes to compete in this higher league from their owner’s comments in a recent programme notes article and this from a club that appear to own it’s ground as there’s no mention of stadium rent.

Wow £16,000 needed per home game to break even . And this is not including like you said ground rent. £100,000 suggested by his accountant to keep going this season.
Makes you wonder how them up the A6 can actually keep going with gates no where near 1000.

So Ian Culverhouse obviously wants to get the club as high as possible but the chairman doesn’t want promotion. So what’s going to happen if they are still around 2nd place after Christmas? Players told to not win games anymore, manager leaves, players following . Then fans want the chairman out 😂😂 and so on . Strange game isn’t it.

By the looks of it a club to get promotion into the conference and be happy there not floating around relegation you would probs need a million pound investment just for the first season as you would need to be full time

Short memories some of them in that part of Norfolk.

Been there before, didn't go well.
