A long time since I’ve seen the pitch looking that good. Great work by Mark and others.

Great work Mark. Maybe you could pop round and give my wife’s bush a trim!

Any one for tennis. It looks good enough for Wimbledon.

Looks amazing. Has any remedial work been done to ensure it doesn't resemble a peat bog by January?

Per Mark Panter...

This year we did a full scarification and sand dressing/levelling up of a lot of the low/high points to get a more even surface which helps, followed by reseeding and feed/weed application (as per pictures above through the works). This combined with a regular verti-drain programme (budgetted in through season) should help. This is part of a multi-year plan.

Due to the costings of putting a new drainage system, going forward we are stacking low areas and increasing the spiking process while each year adding sand dressing to break down the clay profile - which gets the water away from the surface quicker.

Also the amount of games on the pitch is always going to effect the pitch in the wetter months regardless how much money is spent.

If the ground at Hayden Road contains as much clay as my garden does, less than a kilometre away, then it's a f**king miracle any grass grows there at all!

Some additional Pitch work during the week...pitch spraying.

Per MarkP - https://twitter.com/MDPGroundcare/statu ... 18336?s=20

Also a few volunteers were up at the ground doing some basic clearance/tidying ahead of some painting - no real major works scheduled this year.
