Hope Smith and Jones injuries are not too bad. What were the trialists like. I think we may have lost the trialist keeper.

That’s a blast from the past Smith & Jones, Hannibal Heyes & Jed “kid” Curry.

The two who started in midfield did well. Including the guy who has played most games - a Ben Farrell lookalike - who looks like he would be a good addition with the experience we probably need in the central midfield.

Second half saw some new faces and they did seem to energise the latter stages. They did tend to go it alone at times trying to beat a man rather than keep the passing going but they were all keen to shine I guess.

Joel Gyasi came on as right back until Lorrell went off and put in some excellent defensive challenges. He went up front for the latter stages and might have grabbed the winner late on.

Overall I think it showed we have strength in depth and good options going forward. Defensively we looked under pressure when good balls were played into the centre of the box but our cover defence was excellent closing down some dangerous positions.

I think this guy was mentioned by name in a recent interview with Peaksie so a tad surprised he hasn’t put ‘pen to paper’.

Still feel we need a naturally left sided attacking player for balance. Joel & Nat will do a good job but both would probably rather play in their preferred position on the right. Has Ben Heath signed forms yet?
