With the money we are saving on Shamsi absence surely some of that could be added to Ty. It would only need to be for a maximum of 14 games til end of this season

I see posts on the other thread about "can't give him money that we haven't got" but the fact is that there is a playing budget, and Ravi was accounted for in that. He wasn't playing for peanuts, and wasn't on a contract, so there is clearly an excess somewhere.
The board are without doubt shitting themselves at the prospect of going up, and if there was a refusal to reinvest the Ravi wages on a contract for Ty, or other reinforcements, then it may well have forced Peaks' hand when Tamworth came knocking.
I wouldn't have been at all surprised for AP to leave at the end of the season, but the timing of this, and the delay in a statement from the board thanking him for all of his hard work across 8 years (longest serving manager across both clubs???) definitely smacks of something going wrong.
The club has stated that there will be a full statement in due course, which will take at least a day to construct, which is better than putting out a rushed statement along the lines of “We thank Andy for all his hard work, and wish him well in the future” which would no doubt garner criticism from supporters. Also, it’s important to remember that those on the board do have day jobs as well.rdusher wrote: Wed Feb 16, 2022 10:31 am Based purely on my own speculation, I genuinely believe that this would have a part to play in Peaks upping and leaving at this stage of the season.

Totally agree Bozzer. I should think Andy would had been aware of comments like this expressed after the Biggleswade home match backed up by the insults he received from the fans behind the dug out which he referred to in a subsequent post match interview.bozzer wrote: Wed Feb 16, 2022 10:55 am I don't think you could be further from the truth.

We're not 10 games from the end of the season and in the bottom three yet, but we will be. There's no sign of things changing The core of the squad is decent, but the style of play, and the attempts to change the course of a game from the bench are ridiculous.bozzer wrote: Sat Oct 23, 2021 6:57 pm I thought it was quite an entertaining game without the end product. For me we have all the ingredients of a decent team, I just don’t get this call for a change of manager, it’s not like we are 10 games until the end of the season and sat in the bottom three. He has surely earnt the right to turn it around,he has been able to in the past when situations like this have occurred and if he doesn’t then what have we lost.
Loyalty is great, and Peaks has done wonders for us over the years, but fans are voting with their feet and the performances on show right now won't be bringing any of them back. I thought Tuesday night was must win, and today even more so, but we've got 1 point instead of 6. Can you honestly see where the next win is coming from?

To be honest, I stand 100% behind everything in that post. At the time, the football was diabolical, and the attempts to change the course of a game were ridiculous. Not one of us would have seen us as being in the playoffs with ten games left after the biggleswade match. I stayed behind after that game and expressed my frustrations to Andy. Right is right though, and before the away game at Alvechurch I had a chat with him and held my hands up that I jumped the gun at calling for his head earlier on in the year.rdusher wrote: Sat Oct 23, 2021 7:29 pmIt was a diabolical game between the two worst footballing teams in the league so far this season? My post after that game said that people were voting with their feet and that we'd struggle to get then back, and that has showed. Even now we're winning and playing some decent stuff at times, the attendances are at an all time low.
As for my post being "nothing further from the truth" I don't think that's right. As I said, I've nothing to go on than a gut feeling, but for him to walk out when we've got 12 games left, that include potential playoffs and a cup final at sixfields, and the board to still be taking so long to release an official statement and put on record their thanks (Tweets don't really count before anyone jumps on that) I maintain that I genuinely believe all is not well.
Also, we can sit here and laud the board as heroic volunteers, but there are a few of them (and I genuinely don't count them all in this) who regard themselves as a higher tier of volunteer, more concerned with kissing up to the boards of other clubs than anything else. They hurry off to their exclusive little directors lounge at half time, appalled at the thought of mingling with the great unwashed, acting like a cut above. We've lost so many great volunteers over the past couple of years, who were the true lifeblood of the club, purely because of the way they were treated by the board. The "One club, One Community, One Voice" aspect has been massively lost over the last few years, and this is realised in real terms by lack of attendance and dwindling memberships. As Brownie posted on the other thread, we are in need of a desperate shakeup and new direction of leadership
