We've tried to get Irwin repeatedly over the last 2 years. He's playing 2 levels below the level he should be at (3 last season!) but simply won't leave Chenecks.rickthediamond wrote: Thu Jan 02, 2025 11:19 pm Step 4:
Liam Read (Hinckley) - played for RDFC but doubt he would sign for us now.
Kyle Carey (Coventry Sphinx) - potentially a decent shout?
Step 5:
Victor Osobu (Eynesbury) - scored a bucket load, would be a great signing.
Lewis Irwin (Northampton Chenecks).
Rhys Thorpe or Kieran Barnes (St. Neots).
Problem is with the Step 5 players mentioned above, are they realistically going to leave a Step 5 title race / play off race to join us below mid table in step 4? I doubt it.
Step 6:
Nat Ansu (Moulton) - was mentioned last season, presumably we’ve looked at him but probably earns a lot at Moulton.
Kobi Bivens (Irchester) - another player mentioned last season.
I’m sure there will be plenty of people on here with better knowledge of steps 5 & 6 who can probably make better suggestions.
Thanks for the insights.BartonRaz wrote: Fri Jan 03, 2025 11:09 amWe've tried to get Irwin repeatedly over the last 2 years. He's playing 2 levels below the level he should be at (3 last season!) but simply won't leave Chenecks.rickthediamond wrote: Thu Jan 02, 2025 11:19 pm Step 4:

Ansu we tried last season but wasn't interested.
Rhys Thorpe has been on the radar for a year or so - we put 7 days in for him around this time last year but didn't get anywhere with it. I'd be surprised if he wanted to move at this point given where St. Neots are in the league.
Victor Osubu still an option then.rickthediamond wrote: Fri Jan 03, 2025 11:12 amThanks for the insights.BartonRaz wrote: Fri Jan 03, 2025 11:09 amWe've tried to get Irwin repeatedly over the last 2 years. It’s a shame because I think if we could have held on to our top half position we would have been a relatively attractive proposition.
Lewis Irwin has been at Chenecks since he started playing football.BartonRaz wrote: Fri Jan 03, 2025 11:09 amWe've tried to get Irwin repeatedly over the last 2 years.
