i only hope that the ridiculous twitter/X feed from the club today doesn't put too much pressure on our new striker. Far to much hype and simply not funny at all!

I thought it was April Fools day!

Sometimes feel we do blur the lines of professionalism
When it comes to our official club communications! Agree with you Chris!

That's a great scoring record, even if at a lower level. Let's hope he continues knowing where the goal is!!!

Yes a great record, clearly knows where the net is! We just need to ensure he gets the service . Also can score from the penalty spot too!

Corby got Fletcher Toll a Step 5 striker in the summer and see what he has achieved.

Oh Dear, i see the anti humour brigade are out, yes is was a fairly good pisstake of the over the top usual premier league media hype but maybe a bit long winded.

I cant see the problem and i hope the people who put it together dont just say sod you and not put anything else out just in case they upset somebody.

The build up to the announcement got me excited to keep checking throughout the day for updates

Building social media engagement is invaluable from both a commercial standpoint and for engaging with and generating new young fans

I imagine and respect there will be a certain generation of people that don't like it, but we aren't a full time professional club. We can afford to experiment with our social media presence (to an extent) in order to increase engagement in my opinion.

What's funny and what's not is obviously subjective. Perhaps some of the references were too subtle and you had to be of a certain age to get some of them, the Harry Redknapp quotes from interviews that pop up on social media now and again i.e this:

But we tried to have a laugh on 'deadline day' (which doesn't apply to us) and do something a bit different. Whilst I think you're probably right that we might 'blur the lines of professionalism' from time-to-time, I don't think this was an example of that.

I didn’t mind it, kept me looking back and was a good bit of humour. I think the social media team do a great job so no problem from me at all.
Great signing, let’s hope for lots of goals.

At first I didn't get the humour, but as the day wore on it became apparent this was a spoof mocking the Premiership Superstars. For me it just went on too long.
The number of hits received during the day should show whether is was successful or not.

However if he proves to be a success that's what really matters.
Nothing less than a hat trick on saturday😳
