Quorn!!
If ever there was a free hit, a game we can really have a go at with no fear, then this is it !! The form guide shows us that we should have nothing to fear from having a go !
Of course they arrive as favourites, a few more wins and they have the title sewn up - but on our day we’re a damn good side!
Respect them - but don’t fear them! We took them to the wire earlier in the season and I’d argue a defensive attitude at the end of that match led to us losing! Get on the front foot and ask some questions of them!
I’m really looking forward to this one and I hope the lads will be really up for it !

Re: Quorn!!
I don't share your optimism, just hope I am wrong. Our recent opponents are far below the standard of Quorn and for that earlier match we had Wilson and Dallas as CB's. Now we don't have them and probably not Hughes.
That is going to be our weak point and Quorn will exploit it.
On a positive we do have more attacking threat than previously, but I think we will be on damage limitation
I welcome your comments at 9.45 pm tomorrow.

Re: Quorn!!
Let's be the 12th man then. I doubt Quorn have experienced much hostile support against them on away i season, probably only at Corby, so if we can get behind the lads we may well get a result. Not many would have thought we'd have got 3 points at Harborough last seasonsussexdiamond wrote: Mon Mar 03, 2025 10:49 pm I don't share your optimism, just hope I am wrong. Re: Quorn!!
I just want to see us take the game to them
- stand off them and they’ll kill us, work hard and get in their faces a bit, close them down, who knows!
We have nothing to lose as I’m sure most people have us written off already - let’s prove them wrong!
If we get beat, let’s get beaten from having a go, not from trying to defend a point!

Re: Quorn!!
Not impressed with Quorn at all, just a long ball Wimbledon wanna be style no wonder they had no fans. They'll go up, and eventually crash back down. I thought we did OK, had we taken one of those first half chances we might have pushed them all the way. Nothing lost in that performance except a few more centre halves.

Re: Quorn!!
The loss of Green was the turning point. Up til then we were always in with a chance. If he and Tejan are not fit for Saturday we have a major problem.

Early indications are both are fine.sussexdiamond wrote: Tue Mar 04, 2025 10:17 pm The loss of Green was the turning point. Up til then we were always in with a chance. If he and Tejan are not fit for Saturday we have a major problem.
As others have said I think we were well in that game up until the second goal. Had their 'keeper not pulled off two fantastic saves just before half-time things might have panned out differently, however definitely no disgrace in losing to a team who are going to win this league with plenty of room to spare.

Re: Quorn!!
But for two great saves (one I thought was over the line, the second blasted straight at the keeper) we could have been 2-1 up at half time! The second goal was always going to be key and they got it - 0-2 killed the game and injuries left us wanting.
Those in line with the pass through for their first goal swear he was offside - them’s are the breaks as they say!
I thought we did okay, had spells when we were on top but didn’t take the chances when presented - as Raz says, no disgrace in losing to the Champions elect, I’m just glad we didn’t end up losing 5 or 6 because we didn’t deserve that! We had a go at them and they knew they’d been in a game and that was all I wanted to see!
The trick now is to bounce back on Saturday in what should be a winnable game!

Re: Quorn!!
Such a relief Tejan and Charlie should be OK for Saturday. I was in the De Banke and certainly thought the ball was over the line. I hate VAR but could have been grateful for it on this occasion, also for their first goal.
Such are the margins in football. Tejan misses the ball by a whisker to shoot at goal, Quorn break and score.
Just a word about Quorn keeper. Not only did he make a couple of Great saves but he cajoled and encouraged his team mates continuously and he enjoyed the banter especially in second half and seemed a genuinely decent guy.
Worthy Champions although on the night everything went their way.
