It was a fantastic defensive display from us last night. To a man the guys at the back were absolutely superb, as were the guys protecting them in front. Kyle McNulty had his best game in a Diamonds shirt by some distance. We've been so hard to break down in the last couple of games, perhaps we've found a way of playing against the better teams as that's often been our Achilles heal.
If I'm being super critical we've probably only created 3 or 4 real chances in the last 2 games but crucially we've taken two of them. Orosz made a big difference when he came on, whilst I would never want to see Nabil replaced in the starting XI it's fantastic that we can bring someone on with such energy in the latter stages. He had a similar impact coming off the bench against Stocksbridge last month.

Looking like a play-off push is on the cards - credit to Peaks again.

This is the first season where our attack has not been scoring for fun, due in part to the higher level we are now playing at. But certainly recently the defensive side of our game has been much stronger and Ben Farrell adds so much more to the midfield. The only worry now is that we do lack strength in depth defensively, with only Brad to step in if anyone gets injured. Dolman was limping badly at end of game last night and Jacko is still some way from being available.
It was a difficult match for Kyle McNulty as Callum Smith had given us a couple of tough games previously, but it is to his credit that Smith was substituted. I believe McNulty won MOTM, so that should boost his confidence.
Apologies to Lewis Leslie, from where Radio Diamonds where situated we thought it was Taylor Orosz that had scored.

I questioned why McNulty was not selected for the match against Lincoln at the Dog & Duck the other week as it was clear that Brad Harris had difficulty in containing him. Very pleased to hear that Kyle had a good game and this will do wonders for his confidence.sussexdiamond wrote:

It was interesting to hear Andy Peaks' update on the squad - including a mention for Ben Ford, who seems to have been turning out for Newport Pagnell since Fazel moved back to the Diamonds - he was man of the match in their win tonight.
