In and out of my back garden. I plucked 4 names out of thin air.... :good:
No need for sarcasm for what was a perfectly fair question. :nono:

I do begin to wonder if the Official Website has served its day.

Having worked on the OWS for the old and new clubs for over 10 years there has always been a battle to try to make it appear current so that people use it as a primary news source ahead of other sources. When twitter came along things proved even more challenging, but we had the benefit of being a smaller club then with a lot less coverage in the local media, so the news stories / match reports / previews etc seemed significant. Now the website has been forced to have the awful Pitchero video on the homepage, which replicates to other pages, complete with audio which I know puts people off looking at the OWS as often - especially when the adverts appear at even greater volume.

Is it the case that more and more people will stick to places like this forum or twitter for their news stories, and perhaps the OWS should become lower profile? Perhaps we should go the whole hog and have a pitchero site as our official website, complete with the intrusive videos, and then have a local site for our archive / stats etc. What do people think?

Pitchero club websites are bloody awful!

I will also go to twitter first for updates on any club news, but then there's always a link to the official site for more details. So for me twitter is almost used a a doorway to going onto the clubs official site. I think we have one of the best official sites, not only at this level but even as high up as the football league.

It's easy to navigate, doesn't bombard you with adverts, and it quick to get around! If we were to go fully onto a Pitchero style website I think it would be a massive backwards step. As personally, I think they are utter rubbish!

I've had the brief look. Without knowing how it's been embedded (are you iframing it in?)Are you sure there isn't an option to disable the auto play and taking over half the screen? It may be worth reaching out to Pitchero since this is clearly impacting the functionality of the site

if we transfer to a different league next season will we still have to use Pitchero.?

Do the club get any financial benefit from Pitchero?

I see striker Courtney Meade has left Stamford and signed for Barwell.

yes I saw that. he would have presented a much greater threat to us than his replacement Sandy would.

Oh Sussex that's the sort of comment you know will come back & bite you on the arse, though by the time we play Stamford I'm sure Elliot would have realised Tin Pot United are in the semi final of the West Wales Tea Cup with an iminant final at Pontypandy FC & he's not cup tied so would have moved on.

Are you aware that Pontypandy is the fictional village where Fireman Sam lives? :cheesy:
