It is with shock and a great deal of sadness that I learnt today of the 'passing' of one of our greatest supporters, Yvonne. Despite health issues and being wheelchair bound she did not miss many games home or away in the 15 years that I have known her.
Yvonne and her daughter Amy helped me a lot on the old Junior Supporters committed and fund raising committee. Yvonne will be sorely missed.
MY thoughts go out to Amy and the family.

Didn't know Yvonne on a personal level but was obviously aware of her. Most people that watch the Diamonds week-in and week-out are alright by me, but for Yvonne and her daughter to attend most games home and away in recent years despite the obvious challenges they will have both faced in doing so, that's real dedication.

Yvonne’s funeral will be held at Wellingborough Crematorium on Monday June 4th at 10am.
Everyone is welcome to attend and you are asked to wear AFC R&D/RDFC shirts or colours.
Refreshments will be available afterwards in the Oak Room at Hayden Road.
Family flowers only please but donations can be made towards a memorial to Yvonne at Hayden Road through Abbott’s Funeral Directors in Rushden.

I attended the funeral service for Yvonne yesterday. It was a lovely service conducted by Canon Roger Knight and many people were there from both the old and new Clubs. The poem Amy had written for her Mum was really beautiful and it must have been quite difficult for Andrea Stringer to read it on her behalf. I will personally miss Yvonne very much as others have also said. She was a stalwart of both the old and new Clubs. At the formation of the new Club both her and Amy were members of the Fundraising Team and were a great help. RIP Yvonne YNWA.
