Well done the team, well done the fans......the atmosphere today was great. We're in the play-offs - a fantastic achievement.
And raspberries to everyone who stood next to me and moaned all match (so Terry missed the rebound, big deal) and raspberries to everyone who left early, you don't know what you missed!
I'm proud to be a Diamond tonight and Justin is our king!
I couldn't believe it when some fans left early. All this effort the whole club has made, all the way from the players down the car-park stewards has been top draw this year. In terms of honesty and commitment, in my opinion, the best year yet in our short but sweet history. Absolutely brilliant. And to not stay at the end and congratulate the players/management for five minutes for me is very strange. Anyway, a great gesture from the players, particularly Stuart, who as soon as the whistle went, his first thoughts were to thank us, calling all the players over, Top man, top player, top captain!
I was amazed that people were leaving as well, the only thing that's better than the play-offs is the title so why would you not stay and applaud your team for that achievement?! Those are the types of people that would leave 5 minutes early in the second leg if we're 3-1 up on aggregate!
Yep, Im sure most of the people on here (who I would consider to be true fans) would echo this confusion.
Anyway, this is a positive thread, so let's not get sidetracked into negativity People can do what they like, I don't care, I'll be there at the end of the game showing my appreciation.
This year has been a great effort, well done everyone!
Completely agree about people leaving early, there seemed to be more than usual who left early as well, it's absolutely ridiculous that barely half the crowd (at least it seemed to be) stayed to congratulate the team on a phenomenal achievement making the playoffs, so what if they get out of the car park a bit quicker and if they do the same at one of the playoffs, I can't help hoping that we score a glorious injury time goal in the playoff semi final to serve them right and they realise just how ridiculous it is to leave a football match before it's finished.
On a positive note, I'm very pleased I stayed behind for the lap of honour, was very proud and they really did deserve all the praise they got today, they've been superb all season. Can't believe in a couple of weeks, we may be just 3 hours of football away from you know where
Was very proud of the lads today. Made even better by the fact that I know that I was one of the fans who saw our fall from grace, struggle through the shit times, been on huge away trips (Torquay to name one) to see us get stuffed and been there through the Pearson's, Mikolanda's, Littlemore's, Benjamin's, Sharp's, Jackson's and Tomlin's. Just a massive relief to see we're finally back on the up after what seemed like an eternity of shocking football.
Well done the lads, JE, MS, all the backroom staff and moreso us for sticking at it through thick and thin.
Wish I'd recorded the lap of honour on my phone actually, it was a spine-tingly moment if there ever was one. I'll say it now, I don't care what happens in the play-offs, this season's been great and everyone needs to remember that, even if we don't... do that thing which I'm not going to name in case I jinx it. ;)
