Play Offs
Re: Play Offs
At the level below Bedford face a meaningless trip to Corby since they cannot be promoted as their points per game over the league season is so poor compared to even fifth placed finishers in other leagues. What a pathetic situation the F A have caused!

Re: Play Offs
Stratford finished 5 points ahead of Coalville so any ineligible player must have played in two wins for any points deduction to have an effect.
The FA will have to move fast to resolve this problem, something they are not renowned for.
From Step 4 to Step 3 only five of the seven play off winners will be promoted. As things stand neither Bedford nor Sutton Coldfield can progress as they have the two worst ppg record of the 28 teams contesting the Step 4 Play Offs
But their position is not completely hopeless as there are teams that are likely to go bust in the next few weeks (Bury/Bolton) and during the past season North Ferriby and Thamesmead ceased to exist. So it is possible that the 6th and/or 7th teams could still be promoted.
Corby v Bedford could have been a good game to go and watch tomorrow evening. Plenty of ex Diamonds on view.
Concord Rangers in the National League South have been denied from competing in the Play Offs as they do not meet ground grading standards,( they do not have 500 seats) Strange really as they have been in that league for a few seasons and have had plenty of time to remedy that situation.

Re: Play Offs
The player rumoured to have been ineligible appears to be Dan Creaney. I saw a post on Facebook that suggested he’d made 16 appearances for Stratford including possibly both games against us (can’t be bothered to check).
I’m guessing this may have implications in the Southern League Cup, which Stratford won.
What a mess. You have to feel sorry for whoever was responsible for this as they’re probably extremely upset, and also a volunteer.

Re: Play Offs
If Bartonraz is correct they could be losing quite a few points, enough even to move us up to 8th. Plus having to give up the League Cup.
Creaney started or was a sub in 13 League matches in which Stratford accumulated 19 points. He also played in the semi and final of the League Cup which they won.
He is still listed on their website as being On Loan from Coalville, maybe they did not register him correctly. As Coalville finished 6th will they take Strafords place? Maybe it was Coalville who "discovered" the error.

Re: Play Offs
Both semi's postponed to Friday. FA statement due at noon (it is now gone 4pm). Coalville confirm on their twitter they will replace Stratford if they are deducted five points.
Re: Play Offs
Now moved to Monday, farcical, it affects not only our league's playoffs, but the NPL playoffs as well of course because of the super playoff.

Different dates being thrown about all week for games unhelpfully by Clubs much of the time, I've been following this and it has been an embarrassing joke for the FA and League, some good news from last nights playoffs that did happen, our dear friends from Moneybags with the 2 charming Steve's Mouthorpe in goal and Punchings up front lost to Yate on pens.Olly wrote: Wed May 01, 2019 6:11 pm Now moved to Monday, farcical, it affects not only our league's playoffs, but the NPL playoffs as well of course because of the super playoff.
