However, if the rumours are true about how desperate K*ttering are for a no.9 and the amount allegedly being offered - it may prove difficult for Ty to refuse. I am just praying that he stays with us.

On the subject of money, I wonder if the club tried to change Peaksy's mind about going to Tamworth? I hope they did? Did they offer a wage increase to tempt him to stay? i have no idea but I'd be interested to know?

Finally, if the Biggleswade game gets called off on Saturday, Tim & Scott will have no chance to show the board what they can do prior to an interim manager - just a thought!
With you on the points about Ty, I hope he chooses to stay, but the lure of the ££ may be too big. If he does go then it's a big chance for Jonesy IMO.

With regards AP I'm pleased we parted on good terms, I just hope we got something for him as he did sign a contract last summer for this season.

Chris Nunn seems a decent name to be linked with the job but I have a niggling doubt about why he hasn't been given a chance at a higher level than Biggleswade, I think the problem at Biggleswade was that he stayed so long, sometimes you can be successful but then when you reach a certain level the progress will stop. He used to be regularly be tweeting about horse racing etc which may have put some chairmen off making a move for him.

I would be fairly happy to see Nunny come in and see what he can do, my preference would be Liam Dolman as player manager though! he's played in successfully teams at this level here and at Daventry, him with someone like David Staff as his assistant or an older experienced assistant would do well, Dolman wouldn't need to change much and the amount of time he's been here he can replicate Peaks.

The most disappointing link for me is Mitch Austin - some of our fans are moaning that we didn't give Peaks more money to spend... imagine getting Mitch 'MoneyBags' Austin in, he's got players in his Harborough team who have been at higher level teams like he's playing a season on Championship Manager 01/02, would his team have won 10 games in a row if they didn't have players capable of playing in the league above? I don't think so.
  • Play it out from the back.
  • 1 up front.
  • Man gets one good result via a new manager bounce and thinks he's Pep Guardiola.

mitch austin is a definate no no in my eyes(i have my reasons),,,,i for one was on the peaksey out campaign but i have to eat humble pie and say well done for turning it around,,i wish him well :byebye: but i cant help feeling the board have got a bit of egg on their faces ,giving the flack at the time for peakseys head only for them to give him a contract,,,,,for him to welch on his deal,,,also no contract for ty ?...
how long and high up the leagues do we feel we can carry on funding the club? do we need a money man to come in? as of people through the gate and trying to get more parent child partnerships in i cant see it happening,,,,my reason being is hayden road is JUST a football ground whereas the dog and duck had a more family friendly feel,it had the pitch at the bottom of the ground where, on a good day, you would see 20/30 kids kicking a ball about,,,they had ,i would assume had come with their dad/grandad,,,,,,as i used to at the old nene park in the 70s with my dad ,they would then buy the kiddies a burger /coke/sweets you get my drift :good: .What has happened to on sight cooking?(250ish fans at the hillier cup game and a burger van on site, which must have cost the club to hire, yet i only saw about 5 people use it)
summing up,,what would happen if we got up through the play offs,,,,,would it be wise?.what sort of manger are we after, one from a higher league who knows a few players at the end of their careers ,,,,and ex player,,,or an unknown but keen to prove(but where are his players coming from)
then we have the NEW GROUND,,,has this been put on hold,,,earlier on in the season this was priority ,with us just staying in the league,,,,credit where credits due the board have done a fantastic job since we reformed,BUT WHERE DO WE GO FROM HERE :hmmm: :hmmm:

Dunk, I’m not sure I understand your point about Peaksy’s contract - the contract was signed in pre-season long before the early part of the season where results and performances weren’t great and long before things turned a corner to put us in a play off place.

Your points about Hayden Rd though I absolutely agree with and we’re working on it within the constraints of what the club can afford and we also need to look ahead for when we have our new ground. For example, as wonderful as it would be to refurbish the stand and get it back in use, would it be good use of club funds and funding opportunities if we can’t take it with us?
We’re talking to R&H about catering and having the kitchen back open but we may have to wait until next season for that.

Finally, if we cement our place in the play offs and win them it will be a challenge - a big challenge. Over the last 10 years though, we’ve tackled many many a challenge head on and for the most part, we’ve been successful. I’m in no doubt that the same will happen and, as someone who thrives on challenge, I say bring it on!

sorry Stacey/the board please accept my apologies for not knowing my facts  ,i thought it was later,,,as i said the board does a cracking job :good: ,,but i cant help feeling a little worried about the future,i cant help feeling andy has jumped ship too early,,,,,so what if tamworth got relegated,,,,,it wouldnt have been the end of the world,,with a millionare charmain and andy as their manager next year,im sure they would have come straight back up!!!
as you said Stace (its going to get bumpy) bring on the challenge

With todays game being called off, by our next game we should have an interim manager incharge for the remaining games.
With Tim spending all week here away from his home address, looks very unlikely he will go for the job but I could be wrong.

I'm not a fan of player/managers but could see Bully in that role till end of the season. Then you're going to get managers out of work that will apply as I can't see many leaving roles for interim role. Only person I can think who is local ish and out of work is Nunny and he did a fantastic job with Biggleswade moving them through the leagues. I do think we need someone who knows players at this level.

Can anyone think of any more?

For me, and I don't know how realistic it is, but my number 1 would be Darren Collins.

He's been number 2 at Brackley for a long time. He knows step 2 and will have plenty of contacts and is affiliated with the club, which, for me, are the three boxes that we need to tick. Whether or not he'd be interested is a different story.

Came across these pics of mine the other day from Feb 2008. Must be the future managers shortlist…

(Note we do have the originals of these boards in safe storage from when we were able to get items from Nene Park a few years back.)
