Just out of interest... has the amount of people that usually volunteer at the club dropped this summer? or do people think it will drop?
It looks like that's what has happened at Hitchin Town and one of the posters claims it's pandemic / economy related etc,
I remember speaking to some volunteers when we got out of the lockdown who were saying they are glad to be able to get out and do something again so I would be surprised if the pandemic has made people less likely to volunteer.
Hitchin has always had a vast army of volunteers around the club, however I recall there being some unrest this season with some fans thinking they were purposely trying to get relegated, others just wanting a change of management, so from the outside looking in I wouldn't be at all surprised if some of those volunteers have probably just decided it's a bit toxic and stepped back.

Re: Volunteering
For the non matchday stadium works (outside of pitch work), we had less to do this year (and I've not been able to be as flexible on times as previously), so a few of us have done the majority of the general keeping maintained, and small repairs. As mentioned before we're doing maintenance throughout season these days to avoid anything being too large a project.
We have a number of contacts of people that have offered in the past, and just check with those (via whatsapp, email or phone), if they are able to come up. Certainly post covid a few of the regulars haven't come back as yet, but I think that's pretty common across many volunteer organisations.
I believe there are quite a few matchday volunteer vacancies available that were put on the website etc.. but I don't deal with those.
In general as has been the case since the start - just email support @ afcdiamonds.com with any volunteer requests, and preferences and it will get passed to the correct person at the club.
