Matt Lars Fossen

Post by sussexdiamond »

Someone posted on this messageboard that despite not yet having international clearance. (I'm guessing Norwegian FA are sulking about England's 8-0 thrashing) he would be eligible to play 30 days after signing. Is that correct? If so that must be any day now. Over to you Stacey🤔

Thanks for that Jim
So that applies 30 days after our FA (not our club) apply to the Norwegian FA. I wonder when that date passes.

Well on that basis hopefully it will only be a few games into the season when we will start to see him on the pitch.

It's certainly a challenge finding out about the clubs that he's played for abroad, v. little online about them, lower league clubs, though from what I've found, though from what I've found the clubs he's played for abroad were down at the bottom of their divisions.

Linkoping City - Can't find much about these guys, in 2021 they were the whipping boys and finished rock bottom of the Swedish third tier. Fossen joined them at the start of 2022 now in the fourth tier, but obviously that makes it even more difficult to find info. However, from their website, it looks like they may have been wound up a few months ago.

Nybergsund - Relegated from the Fourth Tier of Norwegian football when Fossen was there, third bottom.

CD Bupolsa - Relegated from Spanish fourth Tier when Fossen was there.

SK Herd - Relegated from the Norwegian fourth tier when Fossen was there.

Impossible to say what the standard of these are, especially considering there are so many teams at these lower levels in these countries, but hopefully he can have more success here! As far as I can see he hasn't played football in England since playing for Bradford Park Avenue in the level above in 2018-19 and the RIASA academy in Leeds.
