The point was raised that we are a member owned club and therefore we (the members) should be told, so go and ask on the members forum and you may get answer. It wasn’t all paying fans should be told, I don’t agree with that, am sure it was an admin error, everyone is human

I think the club, and all clubs in general, have a duty to all fans, not just paying members. Are we saying fans who went to the Cogenhoe game who aren’t members don’t deserve a bit more of an explanation?

Yes we all make mistakes and that’s fine, but some transparency and honesty would go a long way. “We made a mistake because… we’re sorry… we’ve learnt…”

A good example is Banbury’s statement today. We get 3 sentences and finish on a “will make no further comment on the matter.” Little bit underwhelming

I just don’t agree mate but respect your right to think that.
We’ve always tried as a club to deal with things in a professional manner. I vote for the board members to deal with these things on a day to day basis so I can come and see our team play at the weekends, but appreciate not everyone feels that way so that’s fair enough

Wasn’t there like five players classed as ‘Trialist’? Any of those could have been deemed ineligible, maybe the NFA changed the rules on trialists, and didn’t inform the club? The statement saying the club were disappointed could suggest that.

I’m as in the dark as anyone, even though apparently I’m a friend of the board!!

Why is this conversation about Hillier Cup on this thread?. I guess the board are as much in the dark as we are. The NFA are not exactly transparent themselves. I actually asked at the time could we play trialists and the answer was yes. So unless someone was still registered with another club I can't se a problem.
