Bit late to call it off. I suppose the ref is the one to finally call time on it.

That’s why a week before you start organising a local ref to come at 9am . There’s literally no excuses. Everyone in the country knew what the forecast was going to be . And it turns out that the corner flag and one goal mouth still 13:00 in the shade . Banging head on walltherushden wrote: Sat Dec 10, 2022 12:58 pm Bit late to call it off. Absolute clownery from Needham Market. Especially their chairman claiming it would be on.
Lesson learnt for the New Board, treat others clubs as if they are stupid

I don't know why people bothered to travel to be honest, last night it was freezing cold and I woke up this morning to a very hard frost along with a still freezing cold temperature, I knew straight away that the chances of the game being on for a 3pm would be hard enough so there was no chance of a 1pm being on.
Needham have apologised https://www.needhammarketfc.co.uk/post/ ... n-diamonds
In the current situation we are in, games being postponed are the best thing for us because that gives the new manager an extra 3 points to play for, if we don't play football again until a week after the new manager is appointed I would be happy.

- Play it out from the back.
- 1 up front.
- Man gets one good result via a new manager bounce and thinks he's Pep Guardiola.

An absolute joke, the club has incurred expense it really shouldn’t have.
Needham were desperate for it to be on as they thought it was an easy 3 points and it might not be when re arranged.
We should have insisted on a local pitch inspection before our coach left. We would have done so for them.

Around 9am the club spoke to Needhams secretary & chair also the match ref several times before setting off. Needham proper shafted the club and fans here .bozzer wrote: Sat Dec 10, 2022 2:58 pm An absolute joke, the club has incurred expense it really shouldn’t have.

But a bonus is we get to play them with a new manager

Completely agree, they knew a 9.30 inspection would not have passed hence why they didn’t get a local referee to look at it, they hoped it would defrost in time, it’s not a big gamble to them as they aren’t paying out. It needs looking at but the authorities, if Needham were made to cover our costs it would have been a different story and called off early this morningdiamondsteve wrote: Sat Dec 10, 2022 4:09 pmAround 9am the club spoke to Needhams secretary & chair also the match ref several times before setting off.
