Harborough now signed Tendai Daire the leagues top goalscorer from Hinckley

He scored twice in Harborough’s 7-0 demolition of Cambridge City last night.sussexdiamond wrote: Wed Dec 20, 2023 9:38 am Harborough now signed Tendai Daire the leagues top goalscorer from Hinckley

I suppose it was inevitable Daire would go back to Harborough, he didn't quite hit form when he was there before, but he is on fire this season. Bit of a strange feeling, usually the boxing day game is my most looked forward to fixture of the year, this year I can't help but be a bit nervous after 7-0 last night.
We really could do without playing them right now, but it is a free hit game, bottom v top, no pressure on us, one of those games where we would need a big piece of luck to get anything from, hoping for a Christmas miracle and a big performance from our youngsters against a team that probably could be competitive at step 2!

According to my calculations - which may be slightly wrong - if we score 2 in this game, which I admit at the moment seems unlikely, that will be 1000 goals since we started as AFC Rushden & Diamonds!

I'd be happy with just one in each game against Harborough and Corby If we didn't concede anyCotty wrote: Sun Dec 24, 2023 9:31 am According to my calculations - which may be slightly wrong - if we score 2 in this game, which I admit at the moment seems unlikely, that will be 1000 goals since we started as AFC Rushden & Diamonds!

Michael joked in his post game interview yesterday that he might even need to put himself on for this one, and to be honest, if he is fit enough, I think he has to, we may not be scoring many at the moment, but against a relentless attack like Harborough, we're going to need to be at our best defensively. Hard to see us not conceding at least 4 in this one with the way things are right now, but ahead of a January which our results will undoubtedly decide our ultimate fate this season, we really need something to be positive about going into the new year, even if that is a loss on boxing day where we can at least hold our heads up and say we didn't disgrace ourselves.
Unless we pull a rabbit out of a hat in this one, then the Corby game has to be the start of a turnaround in results, they haven't won a game at home all season so I actually think we need to get something out of that match to kick off the crunch period.
