Wishing for change of management is not a good thing at the moment. If either Harriman or Porter were to leave we could see an exodus of players and then be in a similar situation to Walsall Wood by having to play a whole raft of Academy players.
Let's hope Loughborough students are still on holiday next week!

Fair play to Corby they always turn out in numbers to support their team, even if they did have to continually chant “you let your club die” and a few idiots on twitter/x after the game trying to claim a rivalry, I honestly couldn’t give a shiny shite about them.

Concerning that it sounds like we are running over budget, Hopefully we can start 2025 off with a win against the students,

Can't see us ever getting close to 1,000, regardless of on pitch results, until we get a new ground. Hayden Rd just isn't going to encourage a lot of people to come watch us with the facilities it has.

Disagree.

An extra 400 diamonds glory hunters on a Boxing Day would definitely happen.

Would have to be exact comparison to a Corby team though, or even a wboro.

Not a team that has scored no more than one goal since September 24th . And only two games this season that we have scored over 1

We have scored more than 1 goal on 5 separate occasions this season in the league with 4 of them being at home?

I think we could get a 1000 at a game but it needs something special. If we were to hold another community day towards the end of the season and add some extra incentives I think we could do it. People like to be part of special occasions (legends day) so let’s say it’s an attempt to beat our record attendance and get a campaign going now for save the date. Add some nostalgia with a penalty shoot out at half time or something like that. If we said from now (using our very good social media) that the game against say Worcester or long Eaton at the end of the season was going to be a break the attendance record attempt I think people would earmark it.

Boldmere (H). Darlaston (A).

Fully appreciate that Boxing Day was utterly turgid and to be honest, boring. I see the knives are out on Twitter/X with regards the manager, but worth bearing in mind that this poor run has coincided with him losing both his captain and vice captain, his two first choice centre halves. I think any club in any league would struggle a bit if that happened. There aren't many teams that are set up to cope with that. At the other end, there is clearly a crisis of confidence.

I've seen people asking why Wellingborough have been able to sign a vast amount of good players and we haven't. The simple answer to that is £. Wellingborough, like Corby, literally have individuals and businesses that are directly funding new signings and both clubs are able to offer significantly more than we can as a result. We don't have any individual or any business funding anything. There's nothing stopping that happening to us even under the fan-owned model as long as the person/business didn't want anything in return, but nobody and no business has stepped forward to personally finance things. I don't know if that's a simple case of luck, or if the 'businessmen' running those Clubs have more contacts than the 'fans' that run ours.

Regards attendances. I was disappointed with the attendance on Boxing Day for sure. Just like I was disappointed with our attendance on the opening day. But at the moment our average attendance is up 1.69% on last season's total average, so I don't think it's generally as bad as is being made out.

We've got a couple of games coming up now that are definitely winnable. Keep getting behind the lads and we'll turn this around, I'm sure. Remember also that at this point last season, we had 4 points...

I know this was covered during Chris Nunn’s time in charge, but surely the ‘Team Building Lottery’ either needs a rebrand or a rework. Perhaps to just the ‘Diamonds Lottery’. Please correct me if I’m wrong but I’m sure it was said that all of the money doesn’t necessarily always go to the playing budget. I do appreciate that some of that money will supplement the budget, and as such could be described as a team building fundraiser, but wasn’t it initially put in place solely for the playing budget?

I still play the lottery simply because I know the money will help the club (if I won, it would be a nice bonus of course). I can only speak for myself, but I would happily pay another £10 a month for a separate fundraiser (one where the club would keep 100% of the money), if I knew it was going to be ring fenced and would finance a real step 4 quality player for the season. Cringe I know, but something like a ‘boost the budget’ would do the trick, even if it just covers one player it’s worth it in my opinion. I do understand that putting the money towards the entire playing budget rather than a new signing may be easier logistics wise though.

Regarding the lottery - there hasn’t been an update posted on the website since September’s draw.

I also feel like we need to start a fundraiser for the new home, it would cost the club nothing to set up and it could be promoted constantly on social media and at home games. Every little would help and after a long period we could have raised 10’s of thousands to kickstart the project. I’m not familiar with Sumup technology but if there was a way to implement an option to donate to the new home project at the gate when you pay your entry, that would be great too. A quick google shows that it might be possible:

https://www.sumup.com/en-gb/givealittle/

Even if we had buckets out at every home game, at least it’s something. I know the club might be worried about seeming like they are constantly getting out the ‘begging buckets’, but I don’t view it that way at all. We have decided to be a fan-owned club, and if we want to progress and have a future, then we are going to have to fund it ourselves. The fundraiser to move to Hayden Road, as well as Save our Summer show that we can all rally behind something we all believe in.

Grays Athletic is a great example of a club that tirelessly used the power of social media to garner support for their move to the empty Ship Lane stadium. Although we don’t have a facility like that within our catchment that we could move to, I think we need to start advertising our new home project at any opportunity we get - after all we are a homeless club!

The Lottery is only used for the playing budget as per the terms of the lottery itself, except the percentage that goes to the winner of course. The perception of how it's used is maybe a grey area. I think some people think it's used to sign one particular player or pay the wages of a couple of specific players who might be paid more than others. The reality is that a % is withdrawn each month and used to top up the overall playing budget by anywhere between 10%-20% depending on the number of gameweeks in a month. The lottery is absolutely vital but as you say, does need a push or a relaunch. We are aware of that.

A 'boost the budget' campaign that puts 100% of funds directly in to the playing budget is in the works and pretty much ready for launch, but we've been hesitant to pull the trigger on it due to concerns around impact on the lottery which as I say, is absolutely vital. I'm sure we will move on it shortly though, but it would be interesting to gauge interest in that from those on this forum?

New home - sit tight on that. Nothing to report at this stage but there are avenues that are being explored. As/when we need support on that you'll all know about it.
