AFCR&D New Manager: Elliot Sandy

Post by rickthediamond »

What a fantastic appointment, contacts galore. Really excited to see what Sandy & Le Masurier can deliver for the club, this seems like a massive step forward. Hopefully we can get behind the new management team as fans and drive the team on the pitch. I know full well how hard the team off of the pitch are working to deliver progression for our amazing club.

This forum is far too loud when things have gone even slightly awry, compared to when something positive has happened. This is the way of the world I suppose, people only feel the need to make a comment when they have negative emotions.

In fairness, X & Facebook is flooded with a whole heap of positivity, which is fantastic to see. I do feel this fans forum is more often than not used as a vehicle for negativity though, which is a shame.

I’d encourage everyone to help make this next season one to remember. Get behind the board, the volunteers, the management staff, the players, and the club. Absolutely love our club, up the Rushden!

Very excited about this appointment, it is an appointment that will attract a lot interest as well, as you can see from social media engagement, the first interview video on YouTube is already the most viewed video on AFCRDTV since November, 600+ views. Fair play to the board for making the decision re: MH, as with Elliot we have a manager who has won this league and will have plenty of contacts around the local area. If he was able to even attract one or two of the players he had at his disposal at Spalding that would huge.

My only doubt at this point is that he won't have the budget he had at Spalding and that is his only managerial experience to date, but a great opportunity for him to prove his managerial skills and it makes me look forward to see who he is able to sign and the new season!

Looks like a decent choice. And seems to have the contacts and enthusiasm and share the clubs values. Hopefully we can get behind him and push on as a club. Looking forward to seeing the signings start to line up. Hopefully soon.
