I think Danny Potter, Jai Reason, Calum Willock, Courtney Pitt, Antonio Murray, Mark Beesley would all be worth a look.

Werent we rumoured to be signing Jai Reason, before he eventually went to Cambridge?

Guess we'll be seing Potter next season.

I can't believe people are suggesting Murray after his tackle at Histon. I would be a bit like Diamonds signing Dino Maamria after his Southport tackle ....

What is this 'southport tackle' people keep referring to?

The only player i'd take out of that lot is Potter, but only if for some reason Dale left.
They say we've lost our money we're not famous anymore.....

I've got it on DVD, recorded from the 00-01 season review video, I'll see if I can upload it onto YouTube.

Basically, Maamria was running with the ball down the left wing, Tarks got back and dispossessed him then proceeded to run forward with the ball. Maamria must have felt that Tarks' challenge on him was unfair (no idea why, there didn't look anything wrong with it at all) so chased after him and launched himself horizontally, 2 footed, between 6-12 inches of the ground straight into the back of Tarks' calves.
Fortunately Tarks wasn't too badly injured although had it been from the front rather than the back he surely would have broken his tibia and probably fibula. It was so horrendous, and so obviously deliberate that it has to be seen to be believed. How on earth the ref saw it only as a booking I have no idea, it remains probably the worst refereeing decision I've ever seen.

On the other topic, I agree I would be happy to see Potter in a Rushden shirt, although only if Dale had moved on (which would make more more unhappy than I would be happy that Potter was in goal ;) ). Jai Reason is the only other player on that list who would interest me.

The quality is rather crap, but until I can upload the video, this gives you some idea of just how bad the 'tackle' was. It's even worse on the video.

Note the position of the ball and the referee. Not even Messrs Creighton and Fletcher combined were as disgraceful as the man in black that day.

Re: Potter

AFC Wimbledon have released James Pullen - the goalkeeper who played against us both times. Seems to be a victim of them going full time and cutting the squad. If Dale goes I would rather Pullen, a young player on the up, turn up, than Potter, a player who appears to be getting worse. Still not a bad player, but Pullen put in a great performance against us at our place, and wasn't bad at theirs.

would like to see the video if you can get it up - and you're saying that only got a yellow...Was there anything done by the FA afterwards - can't believe that would go unpunished?

My other main criticism of him was that he kicked like a girl too IIRC ;)

They've gone and released 11 the dons - not sure who anyone of them were or whether they'd be worth a look at...but looking at the stats Lewis Taylor looks like he could be a good acquisition but he is another midfielder..
