Has this thread died on its arse? Is the F1 racing this season really so bad that NO ONE has any comment to make??

IMO Schummi pulled off a classic overtake into the 2nd to last corner on Alonso on final lap of the Monaco GP this weekend.

Dumb ass bloody rules ruin what would otherwise have been the single talking point over the weekend - my god what a dull race it was otherwise - Monaco GP? should be retitled the Monaco procession.

They would not be there if it were not for the "glamour" and I for one am sick to death of the hype surrounding this race - way over the top for so many years now.

Oh and if I hear Alonso protest that he was "suprised" Schummi overtook him at that corner, once more, I swear I will fly to Spain and stick the entirity of Santander's marketing POS up his jacksey.

Suprised were you Fernando? Bullshit - that explains why you slapped your foot down hard and almost had it sideways into the wall then, such was your suprise, or were you caught on the hop, unsure and tried your damndest to defend your position?

Couldn;t agree more tbh! I hate Schumi with a passion, but i'm afraid even i couldn't spot anything wrong with that move. I wonder if one of the reasons was that one of the stewards was Damon Hill?! In that case, everything makes sense :twisted:

No, the stewards go by what the race director told them. If the race director set it out as 'finish under the safety car' then Schumi broke the rules.

If they are to finish under the safety car, it still pulls in (check the rules) and the drivers follow the leader to the line.

Problem is Race control announced it the opposite way, the lights went off on the safety car and green flags were waved.

The problem is with RC not the stewarding.

I've not watched it since the first race this year. The loss of refuelling mid race has pretty much ruined it for me and now I'd rather watch a Coronation Street omnibus than the actual race. It's just so dull.

Hope they change it next season.

That Bahrain race was one of the worst I've ever seen in 15 or so years of watching F1 (possibly the worst), however, the second race in Australia was superb.

I do think though, that banning refuelling during the race has had a negative impact on the sport, from a spectators' point of view.

Yeah for me the season has not been as bad as expected, and there have been some good races. It's just a shame for me that the good races are dependent on there being some rain, which always hinders someone.
