lower leagues getting messy...
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/footbal ... 690052.stm
Grays are without a league.
Northwich have been demoted from BSN.
Harrogate have been reprieved and remain in BSN.
Vauxhall Motors have been reprieved and remain in BSN.
Worcester have been replrieved and remain in BSS.
Because Farsley folded, no-one was relegated from BSN this season. Seems ridiculous to me...

It's all a bit of a joke really.
Then again, there aren't much other options I guess.

Better idea than promoting teams from league's below, that would be unfair on the teams who have strived to win their respective divisions!

Surely its just the same for the teams that have 'strived' to stay up.TheIncognitoKid wrote:Better idea than promoting teams from league's below, that would be unfair on the teams who have strived to win their respective divisions!

I meant teams who hadn't finished in the promotion placesBartonRaz wrote:Surely its just the same for the teams that have 'strived' to stay up.TheIncognitoKid wrote:Better idea than promoting teams from league's below, that would be unfair on the teams who have strived to win their respective divisions!

I think Raz's point was that it's unfair on the teams that had battled to avoid relegation, that the teams below them were going to get a reprieve. Unfortunately in situations like this, the outcome is always going to be unfair on someone!TheIncognitoKid wrote:I meant teams who hadn't finished in the promotion placesBartonRaz wrote:Surely its just the same for the teams that have 'strived' to stay up.TheIncognitoKid wrote:Better idea than promoting teams from league's below, that would be unfair on the teams who have strived to win their respective divisions!

Could be another change - Salisbury are issuing a statement "in relation to the current situation with the Football Conference" tomorrow, rumours that they've been demoted two leagues.

There are two obvious other options - the team that finished next highest in the lower division gets promoted, or the team that would get promoted to make up the numbers has a playoff against the side that would get the reprive to see which plays in which division.

Perhaps difficult to have a play-off game now, given that many teams will have allowed players to leave.Jemfy wrote:There are two obvious other options - the team that finished next highest in the lower division gets promoted, or the team that would get promoted to make up the numbers has a playoff against the side that would get the reprive to see which plays in which division.
