Jamie Cook

Post by Three of Diamonds »

According to the NLP, Edinburgh is in talks with him. I quite liked him when he was here last time, he definately has to ability it's just that he sometimes failed to put in 100%. He's 30 now, but might fit in well with our front line.

Great player when he left for Crawley, hopefully he could do well again here, if he joins!

Like-for-like swap for Pattison, but what you'll get is someone with experience and someone who has done it at this level!

I hope he signs, on his day, he is brilliant.

That depends upon where you play him. We played him on either wing, but since leaving us he has played predominantly as a striker, and quite successfully.

I'm not sure about Cook, he had more poor games for us than good ones and far too often went missing, and he has hardly played a game since the turn of the year. However, his record at Crawley was superb.

hes the perfect player to play on the right/left of our front three. i really rate him, provides alot of assists and chips in with goals, hope he signs.

Cook is a very clever player. Apparently he's an excellent golfer and you can see that when he plays football in so much as he's always thinking ahead.
I'd love to see him back in a Diamonds shirt.

Would be a very good signing.

They say 'never go back', but I hardly think Cook was here long enough the first time round for him to qualify for that saying!

IIRC he was a professional golfer until he joined us?

He had only recently given up professional football to become a professional golfer when Westley signed him. I guess he has now decided that he's a better footballer than he is a golfer!

Very difficult to make money out of golf unless you can get in the top 50 in Europe. The expenses travelling to and from tournaments plus hotel expenses can be a killer and if you don't make the cut then you're losing money.
