Cousins put out a similar statement when Hill left, in the way that he made it perfectly clear it wasn't his decision.

I think Osano and Stuart will be (and were last season) a better pairing if both stay fit. JE was right about Downer, he was a decent player but spent too much time injured or suspended so wasn't value for money.
I don't really care how the statement was worded, he's gone. It was the right thing to do and no one is irreplaceable. He was due to go past his sell-by-date anyway.

Agree with most of that. Great player but had absolutely no future at the club. Personally i love the reference to budgetary constraints! I know we are cutting back, but in my opinion, if we had wanted to keep him, we would have had enough money to do so. Definately the right call by JE.
