Season predictions

Post by ID »

BSP CHAMPIONS - I can't see past Luton, sadly. Would love to see them mess up again, though.

US? - I'm going into the season the same way that I did the last: hoping for a top-ten finish. Anything else in the league or cups is a bonus. No point putting extra pressure on the lads, especially considering the loss of Byrne and Stone. We seem to work well as underdogs, anyway.

TOP SCORER FOR THE DIAMONDS - Genuinely no idea. I'll go for Tomlin, simply because we don't really have a 25-a-season striker at the moment.

BSP PLAY-OFFS - The league keeps getting stronger. Looking at the teams involved I can see 13 teams who could possibly finish in the top-5. My gut feeling is York (or Luton, whoever doesn't win the league), Crawley, Grimsby and AFC Wimbledon.

RELEGATED - Bath, Southport, FGR and Histon.

MOST LIKELY NOT TO LAST THE SEASON - Histon. I'd love to say Crawley, but I don't think the financial ramifications will hit them for a year or two.

BSP CHAMPIONS - Crawley or Luton

US? - Last year I predicted play-offs, I'm predicting the same this year ;D

TOP SCORER FOR THE DIAMONDS - Tommo or O'connor

BSP PLAY-OFFS - Grimsby, Rushden, York and Luton or Crawley

RELEGATED - No idea, you never seem to know with this league. Can't really see Bath staying up, or FGR.

BSP CHAMPIONS - Luton all the way, no contest.

US? - 7th, 8th or 9th. As with last year play-offs would be a great bonus but I'd be happy if we just had an entertaining season in the top half.

TOP SCORER FOR THE DIAMONDS - O'Connor.

BSP PLAY-OFFS - York, Grimsby, Cambridge, Crawley.

RELEGATED - Bath, Hayes, FGR, Histon.

MOST LIKELY NOT TO LAST THE SEASON - Histon. Apparently they can only pay players £125 a week according to a local newspaper. Beck won't be able to take youngsters and turn them into amazing hoofers as he did last time.

Please note, these are not my expectations for the season. There should be no pressure on the team to achieve what I've put here:

BSP CHAMPIONS - Luton are favourites, but I do have a feeling that they might not do it.

US? - I think we could make the playoffs, but that should NOT be the expectation. In terms of crazy predictions, if Luton don't have the expected canter to the title, well anything might be possible...

TOP SCORER FOR THE DIAMONDS - Aaron O'Connor.

BSP PLAY-OFFS - York, Mansfield, Diamonds, Crawley.

RELEGATED - FGR, Bath, Histon, Eastbourne.

MOST LIKELY NOT TO LAST THE SEASON - Darlington. Could be another Chester are apparently are still financially screwed up.

BSP CHAMPIONS - My money is on Luton, but I think us, York and Crawley all have a shout. However this is an odd league and more often than not its someone you don't expect, maybe Mansfield, Cambridge or Wimbledon. Grimsby and Darlington have a slim chance but I would never bet on a relegated team in this league

US? - I would be satisfied with a Top 8 finish and another exciting end to the season, to still be in the mix in April. I think the play-offs are very achievable for us tho,

TOP SCORER FOR THE DIAMONDS - Probably O'Connor, he's a natural goalscorer. Tomlin's is a very creative player but I'm not sure he'll have the same amount of goals again, and I think Farrell could have just had his best season ever in terms of goalscoring. However it also would not surprise me if either Smith or Charles got a run in the team and got some goals.

BSP PLAY-OFFS - Assuming Luton win, I'll say us, York, and 2 from Crawley, Cambridge, Mansfield, Wimbledon and Darlington.

RELEGATED - Bath, FGR, Histon and Eastbourne

MOST LIKELY NOT TO LAST THE SEASON - Histon, seems like they are screwed. Could end up being a handful of teams tho
