It would help if we were vocal enough about it since it is their directive that has caused this. At the very least it would give the club some ammunition towards trying to get this overturned. You can keep blaming the club, but it's not going to help. Being vocal to the Conference about this directive causing this, might.

I'm afraid I'll also be joining Piggers at Goldington Road! Like him joining the Trust should be a decision I make, not one I am forced in to making. And before people go on about the other benefits to the club i.e. Youth etc, I sponsored a Youth player for 18 months so I can show my support for the Youth dept in other ways as well.

HT is a board member of the Conference so surely she could explain on the official website why the conference have made this decision. I know a number of supporters who like the flexibility of 'pay on the day' for numerous reasons, this pricing structure will do tremendous harm to those types of supporters and therefore harm the club also.

KC has been desperately trying to find a investor, or even sell the club, if you were interested in getting involved would you put money in to a club that finds its support decreasing and not increasing, I fear another nail had been driven in to the RDFC coffin!

Thanks for the email address, I'll do the same in a while, I feel as many of us need to do this as possible so that the club can realise the possible impact of what they're doing. If enough of us do it then it would be incredibly stupid not to listen to us.

By all means email the club, but it would also be worth contacting the Conference directly so that they can see the opposition to their decision. Then if the club than goes back to them, it will add to their case if we, the fans, have have done so separately as well.

OK I've emailed them too but I made different points to both.

To Helen I essentially said "Why not give the season ticket holders a rebate and charge £13 across the board to get bums on seats."

To the conference I said that their rule was poorly thought-out and they should change it.

They're never going to give everyone a rebate are they. Lets think of something more logical, such as putting away fans in the Air Wair and charging them terrace prices. I really really cannot see home fans trying to get in the away end for the sake of a couple of quid, especially not at our level.

I agree that the prices are a bit steep, but some of the people on this board are tighter than a ducks arse by the way. An increase of a couple of quid and people are saying they're never coming again. To be brutally honest, you better get used to the fact that pretty soon your never going to watch any football again, unless its down your local park.

Also, why some of you aren't members of the trust is beyond me. It helps the club, and you get other benefits such as discounts in the club shop, and first dibs on any play-off tickets or FA Cup tickets if we drew Man Utd at home for example. Oh, and cheaper tickets.....

Whilst I think this approach is worth iconsideration, you can't lose sight of how much lost revenue would result - as I said earlier, it could be £40k compared to away fan revenue last season.

I'm sure a few would moan at the differential, but a few seasons back we did charge less for sitting in the Airwair than the North or South stands (admittedly only £1).

The other problem is that we've also increased prices in all other areas of the ground - so that increase would be seen as way of subsidising a reduction for away fans.

Why the heck should we give season ticket holders a rebate since they've already got a great price for their entry? The problem is not a season ticket holder one, it is a casual fan one many of whom will not pay £17 for entry to watch a Conference match. It was disastrous at Kettrin, it'll probably be the same here. Formic, can you work out the figures for a potential loss of support equal to that £40k figure (per home game over 23 home matches) you keep mentioning please just to give us a balanced look?

Mad dog, the Conference did not force our club to raise their prices did they? The rule is wrong I agree but the Conference did not rule that prices had to go up (pretty much like there's a way around it by joining a membership scheme no doubt). Look, I've been on here times and defended the club to the hilt, but on this occasion I think they've got it wrong and it's alienating some of the previously hardcore fans even on this site. As we've seen in the past, once the fans have gone they rarely come back.
