Yes we are lucky to have got the point, I wasn't talking about that. I was talking about the complete rubbish that for the preceding 93 minutes was supposed to represent football. IF that was your first game would you come back again?mattreddan wrote:Be happy with the point. We're lucky to even have that.

Re: There
I wonder how many made their first game the first derby last season were kicking themselves two weeks later when we played Gatehead. Anyone who might consider coming regularly at some point, but is sizing things up first will try a few games before making a judgement.rudolph_hucker wrote:Yes we are lucky to have got the point, I wasn't talking about that. I'll have a double of what he's drinking, cheers. Last season the start went LDDWW so assuming that pattern stays true we should now be in for 2 wins. After a shaky first month we went to Barrow looking for a first away win and everyone knows what happened, maybe history will repeat itself.

R.I.P Dale. We will never forget you.

Re: There
Well, I wasn't there, but we're a point up on last season so that has to be a plus surely???? ................reading this every silver lining has a cloud eh???
That's £17 I've saved anyway, today was a match I would have missed anyway due to a family wedding, the next one is down to the stupid pricing policy !!!!! After what I've read on here tonight, I don't think I'll be alone !!

Thank f*** for that, I was beginning to think I was the only Rushden fan not contemplating suicide tonight. :roll:Biggles wrote:The usual crap, no not the team but the fans reaction.
Last season we lost the first game and we were a crock of shite and relegation fodder, how the hell can anyone base the whole season on one game is beyond me.
We have had a very disjointed pre-season with the injuries and some of them players today have had hardly any first team games together so i will give them time someplayers will improve other may not but at least give them time before we chuck in the towel.
Yes, it was a pretty poor performance, and some of the criticism is fully deserved, but lets just consider a few things before we write the team off completely:
1. We sold our best player (in fact, the best player in the league) only a week ago and it was always going to be impossible to replace him.
2. The man we were all hoping would make an immediate impact and help ease the blow of losing Tommo (i.e. Rene Howe) only joined the club one day ago, and has only played for the club on one previous occasion, which was a pre-season game.
3. We couldn't really have had a worse pre-season, with almost the entire squad picking up an injury at some point. We still have a couple of key players out injured and the starting XI had never all played in the same team together.
4. Despite a disjointed performance, and a very quiet home crowd for most of the second half, the team kept on working hard right until the last minute and refused to accept that they were beaten.
5. Fleetwood are riding on the crest of a wave at the moment, they have considerable finances and have assembled a squad which many are tipping to do really well this season. Still, the only time they actually threatened to score was when Osano decided to head the ball to their star striker 25 yards from goal. They looked a decent, solid team with some talented players but they still struggled to break us down. How anyone can say they deserved all 3 points today I really can't understand, as with the exception of dealing with a few crosses, Dale had nothing to do.
Like I said at the start of this post (rant), it wasn't good today, but why does every disappointing performance have to be met with such an unnecessarily defeatist reaction? I think some people need to get a sense of perspective.
I really hope there are no potential new supporters who read this forum, because most of the reactions on here will put them off far more than charging £17 for a seat will.

Re: There
I don't think £17 is worth it to watch that match, HOWEVER, I spend the money (albeit £12) because I have a strong support for the club, and at the first hint of struggles, I'm not going to leave it, after enjoying all the great years the club has given me. People always moan about how all the 'bandwagon' fans left after we started getting relegated, yet as soon as the club starts to struggle financially and raises prices by a few quid, lots of people don't attend matches? I dont understand it myself, but there we go!
Also, people on here moaning about the quality of football. Its the BSP, it may be awful at times but it's the football I love. It's local football, and I don't care how we play, it's my club, end of! If I wanted to see perfect passing, I'd trot 3 hours up the M6 to Manchester and watch a game with 50,000 tourists and a few mad mancs.
