Just a nervy debut. Tried to take on his marker, who tackled him, but he did recover with a slide tackle. Had a simple header back to Dale, but put too much on it and it went for a corner. Did make a couple of neat flicks down the line in the second half and like already said on here, he'll go on to be one of the fans favourites.Dukes wrote:What did Miller do wrong..? .

My choice would be:
...........................Roberts
Miller.............Osano.........Stuart...........Robinson (if fit, if not Corcoran)
...........................Huke
.........Power..........................Porter
Charles.................Howe.....................Green
I don't see Green fitting in to a 3 man midfield well from the reports so far, which suggest he is a very attacking player. Those reports suggest to me he was brought in to play the wide striker role. Charles did very well after coming on IMO, and deserves the start. Bit harsh to leave Corcoran out, but a natural left back is what we need if we have one fit! Plus I think Miller needs to get his chance to have a run in the team straight away, I would rather have a settled back four than be constantly changing, even if that means Corcoran is unhappy (and I do really rate him). If Huke is having problems as is suggested then Corcoran could get a shot at that holding midfield role again.

(Shamelessly stealing Jemfy's formation!) I think the above will be the team we might see against Bath. With Cockers having scored, I can't see him being dropped, and tampering with the back four, especially at this stage, might be unwise. It took us a very long time at the start of last season to tighten up defensively, and I don't think we'll want to go down that route by chopping and changing.
I could see us starting with the forward line above. Midfield could be interesting, depending on how fit Huke is. We may see him on the bench if he is still not 100%.

That line-up looks "ok" to me, but I'd be concerned about playing Porter on the left side of the middle. For my money I'd want a left footer in there just because it'd be more "natural", same for left back. Spence would be my choice, but he does need to improve and affect the game more positively. Also possibly consider Faz for the position where you've put Charles? So far Faz is the beter crosser of the ball, and his corners are dangerous

One Of his Corners Was Dangerous, the others were over/underhit like his poor freekicks.. Just because he delivered the one for the goal. IMO charles work ethic when he came on really impressed me chasing the ball and hurrying their keeper who must have wasted so much time in that match.
As for Porter did he not play on the wing for a small part last season? i seem to remember him out wide but not sure if it was on the right or left ?

Ok I'll add my 'two penneth' for what it's worth:
...........................Roberts
Miller.............Osano.........Stuart...........Corcoran
...........................Huke
.........Porter..........................Spence
Farrell.................Howe.....................Green
Bench: J Day, Power, Robinson, Charles, Johnson
I think you'd be silly to leave an experienced striker like Faz out for a tough tuesday night away fixture, even if he didn't have the best of games on Saturday.
I also think that Porter should play in the role that he knows and Spence adds much-needed left-footed balance to the central 3.

He should've scored his two chances, the penalty and that one inside the area in the second half that he somehow manage to fire into the side netting.TheIncognitoKid wrote:I thought Farrell did ok and was the only one who looked like getting a goal.
