Porter was MoM imo, Howe was a handful (I feel if we had him last year instead of J-Lo/Cliff, we would have been a much better team), Green looked very dangerous, and despite being out of position, Matt Johnson gave maximum effort along with Charles! Bring in Stuart for Osano on Saturday, keep the rest the same, good performance tonight, very happy

My first match of the season, and got to say I was impressed. Wimbledon didn't really get a sniff, and we looked decent!

Much better performance tonight.
Howe and Green worked well and Charles although a little lightweight tried hard.
Defence much more solid, and Osano particularly did well, keeping his mind on the job all game.
Power and Porter ran the midfield in my opinion. Johnson was lively without having any great pace.
Thought Wimbledon did not look promotion hopefuls to me, think they will finish somewhere in the middle of the pack.
3 points under our belts and onwards and upwards from now on.

One word describes what we did tonight that word is Dominated, to say wimbledon were 2nd it didn't show at all. We dominated from start to finish!wewantourdarbyback wrote:Well Wimbledon had a 100% record before this and we produced 20 shots (10 on target). I will be very interested to hear the views of those who were there tonight.
Howe's goal was very good he just stroked the ball with power into the top corner beautifully!
Huke played brilliantly in CB he had kedwell in his back pocket throughout the game and won pratically every header he could, Osano did very well also which was good to see!
All together it was a great performance and im very proud of the lads tonight

Very pleased tonight, an excellent performance all round, by far the better side for the vast majority of the game, great finish by Howe to finally open his goalscoring account(I expect he'll get quite a few more in his time here), a much needed 3 points and a clean sheet finally
There's definitely plenty of improving to be done, like up front but it's a perfect result/performance for JE and the team to build on and hopefully we can hit some form now!

I thought we looked very good all game, played the ball along the floor, and dealt with Wimbledon with ease. First half I thought it was 50/50 both sides had chances to take the lead.
Second half we absolutely dominated, and thoroughly deserved our goal, thought Howe's goal was going to be one of those that bounced off the bar and over the wrong side, so glad it went in!!!!
My little cousin came along and enjoyed the game!

Was very impressed with Dominic Green, very quick, and it showed when the Womble's took off their RB after 23 minutes!!!

It's interesting how different people can see the same game differently.
For me, Green wasn't all that great - lots of nice touches but no end product, like when he skinned a man to get inside but then tried to take it outside him again for no reason instead of carrying on into the box. Also wasn't the change of RB due to injury rather than tactical? Howe's goal was fantastic and he looked excellent when we were attacking but when AFC had the ball I thought he was lazy and needed to close the opposition down a bit more (remember when J-Lo didn't close down Paul Carden last season?). Huke and Osano were both fantastic - Osano's anticipation and use of his strength were first class and I was interested to note what a difference Matt Johnson's aerial presence made both going forward and defensively. Ryan Charles was my man of the match - made a few opportunities simply by chasing what seemed a lost cause and worked his socks off.
I would start 10/11 the same on Saturday but swap Green for Day, however what kind of message does it send out when you drop your club captain? I can't see JE leaving out Stuart personally.

Yeah he clearly has a lot of talent but I partly agree with AndyKirkup as he did seem a little unsure of what to do with the ball at times but he still really impressed me.diamondgeezer1 wrote:Was very impressed with Dominic Green, very quick, and it showed when the Womble's took off their RB after 23 minutes!!!
