Reserve game today

Post by DiamondsFan »

Anybody go to this? Looked like a few of our first teamers and some youth against a young Peterborough side. Never really bothered watching some of our youth but dropped by on my way to a meeting and was pretty impressed.

First teamers include Day, Miller, O'Connor, Koranteng, Keehan, Roberts and 1 or 2 more.

Aynsley McDonald will be a good player for us in the future. So composed. Really impressed with him. Had to leave at half time so if anybody knows the score, let me know please. Cheers!

Saw some of the second half, a triallist scored our goal, a decent finish struck into the ground which bounced over the keeper midway through the second half and then they scored in what must have been around the 90th minute, not a bad performance from our lads from what I saw, a few that I didn't recognise so they must have been youth players but there was definitely York, Simmonds, Keehan, Koranten and Jamie and Joe Day playing and O'Connor had just gone off when I got there. Peterborough's side I believe was all youth players, so no Tommo or any of their first teamers.

I saw Keehan's shot. The way it's described on the OS doesn't do it justice - the cross came in and it looked like he was falling to the ground and hit it side on before the ball leathered the crossbar before bouncing down and away. Keehan's quite a good player, surprised he's not really had a look in for the first team yet.

Think its maybe time he got a start in the side with some of the results we've had, or at least a sub app
