How bad would Newport have to be to lose to Barrow though! On yesterday's showing they'd have trouble beating an egg.

Re: We are in the Zone
It's still early days. There's a bit of a gap appearing between 6th and 7th, but it's still early enough for someone to change that and make the leap.
Right now, we've just got to keep going about our business. We're being forgotten about again, the focus being on Wimbledon, Luton and Crawley. I think it's ideal this is happening since it means we can go about trying to consolidate our position as much as possible without much of a spotlight on us.
Another point of interest but one we should NOT think about too much is that we're 6pts off top spot compared to 14pts at this stage 12 months ago.
Really we just need to carry on taking each game as it comes and build upon our current results. JE, the coaching staff and the squad are doing fantastic at the moment. Let the other teams ignore us at their peril.

I agree. I think it's unlikely we'll match the results we achieved after Christmas last season - that was Championship winning form, so it's good that we have a few more points on the board - and hopefully that takes the pressure off a bit whilst we focus on the FA Cup next weekend.

Re: We are in the Zone
Psychologically its a massive boost to get into the zone, staying there will be tough though. I agree with Formic, the form we showed post Christmas last year was awesome - but if we're up there come January who knows eh?

I say this completely seriously. Why not? Our next 7 fixtures are all very winnable:Formic wrote:I agree. I think it's unlikely we'll match the results we achieved after Christmas last season - that was Championship winning form.
Kiddy A = Win.
Fleetwood A = Draw.
York H = Win.
FGR A = Win.
Cambridge H = Win.
Hayes A = Win.
Eastbourne H = Win.
Draw and a win against Luton, Grimsby aren't very good = win, we always beat K*ttering = win. Then our February and March are very nice apart from AFCW away on March 26th (but that won't matter because we'll be top by that time) = draw. How nice would it be to win the league in front of Steve Evans?!

Unless I'm wrong, none of the "next seven" fixtures you mention are after Christmas !
In case you've forgotten, we only lost two league games after Christmas last season - to repeat that from Christmas this year to the end of the season will be a real challenge. We've already lost 5 games this season, and will still have to travel to all five teams above us in the table during that period - in fact we still have to travel to all the other teams in the top 9 - although I accept we will travel to Fleetwood before Christmas. All of our away games to date have been against teams in the bottom 10 of the table, with the exception of K*ttering - so our away form is rather unproven.
Given your comments regarding the K*ttering cup game I don't think you are likely to win the RDFC fan of the year award, even with this late attempt for credibility.
