£10 tonight, but I wouldn't pay 10p to watch them to be honest. But you have to say they have a grasp of the reality of what it takes to attract people to games and market themselves effectively. They very often offer 2 adults for £20 deals. I purchased some tickets for MK Theatre recently, in with the tickets when they arrived was a voucher, 2 adults for a £20 - excellent marketing !!! Hate the club with a passion, but you have to say they've got some excellent ideas for attracting people along, and it works for them !!Formic wrote:Given Pigman's dislike of the MK Dons he may not check out ticket prices for this game ...

Re: Easy warm up for Yeovil
Incidentally, I see from the MK Dongs website that they are now selling 3/4 season tickets, works out at £12.95 per game for League 1 football, and thats for a seat - excellent value (if you can stomach going there!! ;) ). Why aren't we doing this, why wait for the half season ticket? Why aren't we bundling tickets together and selling packages to tempt people along..........I'll tell you why, because they've backed themselves into a corner with the Trust discount scheme and will piss off people who have stumped up £15 to join !! Another reason I think its a stupid idea, its too restrictive !!

Re: Easy warm up for Yeovil
It's very easy to market a club well and offer cheap ticket deals when you have a Chairman who can afford to cover the losses at the end of the season - we know that for a fact, because that's exactly what we did under Max Griggs. Unfortunately, we're not in that situation any more. I agree that the club could sell itself a lot better, but we have tried various schemes in the past and each time have enjoyed very little success. Besides, the franchise have the advantage of being located in a massive, ever evolving town, not a tiny, middle-of-nowhere town like Irthlingborough.
For the time being at least, I don't think the club has much choice but to fleece the hard core supporters for as much as they possibly can.

Spot on. Wankleman is gambling on building new support in the area but when his money starts to run out or he hits hard times then it will be another story.davealbon wrote:......the franchise have the advantage of being located in a massive, ever evolving town, not a tiny, middle-of-nowhere town like Irthlingborough.
Didn't Ince leave because of the lack of finances to improve the squad?

Yeah, I guess you're right, let's keep fleecing the existing fans and let the club bleed to death that way as they drift away one by one - all those empty spaces at Nene Park don't cost us anything do they, saves us money in the long run eh?
