time for another 3 goal fight-back like the first team at H & Y. Come on, you Diamonds. Whatever the outcome, the lads have done us proud and it bodes well for the future if we can afford to retain some of them at the end of the season.

Broadbent was outstanding today, pulled off some great saves. We lacked a cutting edge for the chances we created and Barnsley had a little more class at times.

You could have 140 years of no achievement, or twenty years of glorious victories, you decide.

Barnsley look an excellent side based on that performance. We didn't play badly, but we seemed to lack a little confidence in the final third - I wonder if the occasion got to our lads a bit. I agree about Broady, he had a fantastic game and the penalty save was superb - it was hit powerfully to the side he dived, but it was quite high and he showed brilliant reactions to reach up and push the ball away.

All of our chances seemed to fall to Jake Woolley. There were a couple of gilt edged opportunities in the first half, one which he put wide and one that was well saved by the Barnsley 'keeper who made himself big and charged down Woolley's attemped lob. He had several other half chances, but unlike at Hull when he smashed one in the roof of the net from 20 yards, he seemed to snatch at the chances today and failed to trouble the 'keeper.

You couldn't fault the effort, but sometimes you have to just hold your hands up and say "they were too good for us" and tonight was one of those occasions. The lads have done the club really proud with this run, beating a League 2 side and a Championship side, getting to the same stage of the competition as the likes of Arsenal, Everton and Man City, and a step further than Spurs. We were the only team to reach the 4th round who don't currently receive funding or player protection from the FA, and were one of only 3 or 4 who are outside the Championship. Well done to all the players and staff involved! :D

This made me realise what an achievement this is. I don't take a particular interest in the youth team or their results/standings, but obviously have heard they are doing well :D , but I had no idea it was this well. Seems like a better achievement than the 1st team reaching the same round when you consider the above  ;) .

Great effort from all the youth set up to go that far in the competition. Well done everyone, and just remember - if you'd have won it, you'd only have to take turns polishing it
