A mate of mine has written an article about Rushden and Diamonds for a blog called upper90magazine, i thought it was an excellent read and a good true account of the history of R&DFC pre and post Max Griggs.
There's too much emphasis on the Leon Knight incident - it's not significant in R&DFC history, although I guess he / she is trying to make us look desparate.
Marcus Bignot didn't arrive until after the Playoff Season (which was Division 3, not League 2).
Similarly Diamonds have never played in League One - it was Division 2 then.
The assertion that Nene Park was swamped by Away fans duing the Division 2 days is stretching a point - Diamonds fans were sill in the majority for QPR / Sheff Wed - the capcity of the AirWair is around 2400, and these games had 5500 present. The only games we've really been swamped were at the end of last season - ironically our most successful one for ages.
I'd be interested in who the "BIG money transfers from the Football League" were for the 2000/01 season - the biggest signing Justin Jackson came from Non-league, as did Tarkan Mustafa, and I'm not sure we paid a big fee for Duane Darby or Shaun Carey.
"Borrowing" pictures directly from the ET or Diamomds OWS needs to be credited.

Formic is right.
We have never played in a League 1 we went:
2 seasons in Division 3, 1 season in Division 2 and then we were relegated to League 2 as I remember the newspaper article in the ET and got all excited thinking we had been reinstated :P
