Re: Great Signing
Bent had a fair few years left on his contract, also, the premier league has gone crazy in terms of transfer fees and wages (Thanks to Man City/United and Chelsea)mattreddan wrote:I struggle to see how Darren Bent is worth more than this guy.

Re: Great Signing
Say what you like about Bent, but you can't argue with 32 goals in 58 games for Sunderland and 31 in 68 for a poor Charlton side. Even at Spurs, where he was deemed to have been a disappointment, he still scored 1 in 3, and half of his games were from the bench.mattreddan wrote:Agreed... although hes still better than shitty bentdavealbon wrote:Suarez will be a flop in the Premier League. £23m is a ridiculous price to pay.
I read somewhere last week, that only Drogba and Rooney have scored more Premier League goals in the last 3 years.

Re: Great Signing
Whereas... Suarez scored over 80 in just over 100 games.... yet can be considering a 'flop' before hes even kicked a ball
:D:D:D I agree in the sense that 23m is a stupid price to pay.... (as I agree that most fee's these days are ridiculous) but I wouldn't consider him a flop with that goal scoring record.

Re: Great Signing
I think he'll be a better player than N'Gog but £23 million is far too high in my opinion, considering what they got Torres for!
Re: Great Signing
Yes because 24m for Lescott is even more stupid ;)TheIncognitoKid wrote:Would you say 23m is too much, when Man City paid 24m for Joleon Lescott!
The difference between Bent and Suarez, is that Bents record is in the league he is playing in. Suarez's record is certainly impressive, but as we know, so is Diego Forlan's!!1 The Premier League is a very different league to many others around the world. Personally I think Suarez will do OK, not justifying his 23m price tag. I personally think Gyan is a much better deal.
