I disagree, "we have no cutting edge" probably sums it up better. We looked comfortable today I thought and created a lot of scoring chances which we didn't take, on another day we could have run out winners by 3 or 4 goals. I thought 1 goal was going to settle it to be honest, Joe made bit of a mistake and they took it - thats football !!
I hate playing against 10 men because they basically defend and you have to break them down, we didn't have the quality to do that sadly.
We're NOT shit, we're average at the moment. I saw some desire in the team today and thought MIllsy had a terrific game. We need a striker who knows where the goal is though.
Stop whinging and get behind your team !!

You paid your £17 then Piggers? :o ;)
They say we've lost our money we're not famous anymore.....
Nope, I have a half season ticket thanks, do keep up ;)
£17 is still far too much to pay to stand for a Conference game, I won't pay it.................just thought I'd clarify that in case you were unsure of where I stood on the subject ;)

I'd agree with that.
We have no cutting edge, but whats changed from last season when we were scoring for fun? Can't be Jefferson Louis.
Quality of the players/service to the front men at the end of the day - Tomlin gone, Byrne gone, Terry gone.................it does make a difference when you lose players of that quality !!

I agree Piggers, we had plenty of chances and didn't take them. It was a lack of finishing that let us down today. Probably as well as we've played for a while, we actually knocked it around quite well, but not quickly enough and not with enough end product. I did think that replacing Charles was the right thing to do, but a straight swap for Smith was wrong. He should have been in the middle and Gash put out wide.
I haven't changed my mind about Osano though, I thought he was very poor again.
I agree, time to shuffle the pack and for Osano to realise he's not an automatic choice. We all said the same today, I don't know if I'd call him lazy, laid back or lethargic - but he just wasn't with it today and hasn't played well for a while - the lad's gone backwards !! There seems to be a lack of drive in his play, his tracking back at times was dreadful.
Its frustrating, because we all know he has the ability.

rushden_siy wrote:yeah but with the cash we got frm tomo and that, and were we finished, you would of expected to attract better players then spence and so on. :?
What cash did we get from the Tomlin deal then? GC indicated last night that it was not an ideal deal for the club and his fee is being paid in installments.
We don't have the funds to attract the top players, get used to it !!

I think we all have to realise and accept our position in this league at this time. We're trying to compete with the likes of Crawley and Luton who are spending far more than we are, we're probably in the right position for what we're spending and the size of our club. Ok, so we "should" have pushed on for a win, we battled away but didn't break them down, that's the way it goes. I saw around 8 of their players playing at the back for Tamworth in the second half today, it doesn't matter how many more players you have on the park when it's like that. We didn't lose, we didn't stop trying and that's just as important sometimes.
