Re: Match Report?
Match report should be up on the official site soon enough.
Have a read of the last few posts on the match thread, though, some of the fans who went to the game have posted up what they think.

Re: Match Report?
First half, excellent. We really took the game to Cambridge, the first goal came from a Sam Smith (I think?) curled pass forward which O'Connor ran thruough to calmly control, turn inside then smash low into the net. The second came from a corner routine, a 1-2 and Jamie Day thundered a great shot into the bottom corner. Cambridge crumbled and we really should have taken them to the cleaners.
Second half we killed the game, took the points and did a really professional job.
Cambridge were outplayed, outfought, out-thought and outsung. I don't recall Joe having a real save to make all game. Prosser was an absolute rock at the back and was head and shoulders (for my money) better than anything we have as a centre-half - sign him up.
Day - 6, didn't have that much to do, but did what he had to right
Osano - 6, still lets the ball bounce, but was much improved than late
Corcoran - 7, solid, but still a few wayward passes
Prosser - 9, awesome
Day - 8, best game for a while, first half magnificent, second quiet (team orders I expect)
Power - 7, beavered away
Mills - 8, stable and fitting into the old Butterworth / Terry mould nicely
Porter - 7, got stuck in, terrific engine
Smith - 7, first half was superb, second not enough time on pitch (tactical change)
Gash - 7, led the line well, but needs to give better quality lay-offs
O'Connor - 8, first half he destroyed his full-back, second did a job for the team
Edinburgh & Driver - 9, got it all spot on

Re: Match Report?
I'd agree with that. The only thing I would like to add is that I felt Joe's distribution was better in the second half, particularly his kicking. I don't agree with him getting slated for it given his age and this being his first full season at this level. I thought our back five were solid today and organised. Two of Diamonds wrote:First half, excellent. Re: Match Report?
Eddie Oshodi was my MOTM. Wonderful warm up and scored a belting hat-trick. Could be the goalscorer we've been looking for!! 8-)

Re: Match Report?
I'd have to say as well that I thought the big Cambridge centre forward was quite impressive (Wright?), in both games. He held the ball up well and looked to find a pass when going forwards with it. I think he'd be a fine addition to our squad if Cambridge are looking to offload players in he summer to reduce their budget. He has a real "presence" about him, like Darbs had.

Re: Match Report?
I turned to my old man yesterday and said exactly the same as you. In the right team he'd be extremely affective at this level, and he was affective for Histon. I've always thought he looked an excellent player, just a bit overweight maybe. Two of Diamonds wrote:I'd have to say as well that I thought the big Cambridge centre forward was quite impressive (Wright?)

Have to agree about Wright, I hope JE has put his name in his notebook.
From what I hear UTD will be deffo cutting their budget in the summer, maybe by as much as 33%!

Re: Match Report?
If that's the case then they're going down, if they don't this season.
Massive team to be in BSS.
Saying that, getting rid of Daryl Clare will probably free up 33% of their wage bill.
