Help wanted.

Post by rudolph_hucker »

I am starting a project that will involve knowing who "fans" regard as R&DFC legends. I am interested in knowing which particular players from our short history fit the title legend. I know Darbs, Unders and maybe Hunter will stick out but I'm after about ten or eleven. I'd be interested in hearing whe the supporters from the start regard as legends too. Please add anybody you regard as true R&DFC legends.

Sorry RH saw your message but forgot to reply.

Help from the club would be needed to track some people down. Onandi Lowe is a legend in my eyes but he's probably uncontactable.

Obvious ones: Darby, McElhatton, Hunter, Sharp, Butterworth, Collins, Hall, Lowe, Burgess, Underwood.

I'd go with:

Turley
Mustafa
Hunter
Warburton
Underwood
Kirkup
Hall
McElhatton
Butterworth
Lowe
Darby
The Fans - as the 12th man who truly are legends.

But if you want a 12th man being a player - then Collins for me at no 12.

As I've been with it since the beginning I've narrowed my list down to 22;-

Paul Underwood, Darren Bradshaw, Ray Warburton, Dale Watkins, Tim Wooding, Garry Butterworth, Darren Collins, Billy Turley, Duane Darby, Jon Flower, Paul Hall, Barry Hunter, Dave Johnson, Andy Kirkup, Onandi Lowe, Aidy Mann, Michael McElhatton, Tarkan Mustafa, Mickey Nuttell, Andy Peaks, Jim Rodwell, Billy Sharp.

Well obviously Robin is VEEEEERY old so can remember far FARRRR further back than me ;)

My list would be very similiar mind:

Mickey Nuttell
Andy Peaks
Ade Mann
Dale Watkins
Darren Collins
Garry Butterworth
Paul Underwood
Duane Darby
Paul Hall
Onandi Lowe (but you'll never find him so I'll go for Barry Hunter instead)
Michael McElhatton
Ray Warburton
Andy Kirkup
David Leworthy

I would have put Turley, but couldn't bring myself to choose the low-life convicted drug cheat, no matter how good he was !!

Shall we start up a Private Detective agency.............people tell me I'd made a pretty good private Dick, well, one out of two ain't bad ;)

Still scoring those 90 minutes goals I see, bet he had a nice relaxing cigarette after that eh? :D
