Match Thread v Gateshead
Re: Match Thread v Gateshead
Poor! Didn't want to know and yeah hit and hope balls useless! Did you see their centre backs?! Created virtually nothing, only real effort on goal was from o Connors header, god knows how he missed it! And right at the end did you see how many times they hit the post/bar? Got absolutly raped at the end and to be honest joe day was the only player who wanted to win! God knows how you can from beating cambridge away to this.

Same old story from Rushden.. we let a shit team walk all over us, saying that Gateshead were cheating, and as usual the referee fell for it everytime, ashamed to share my surname with him!!!!!
If we continue to play like that, we can kiss goodbye to the play-offs.

I agree with that, I know others will disagree as yes we do have chance of the top 5 but I can't see how we're good enough.rushden_siy wrote:were a mid table/ top 10 side, and thats it.
Yes 3 wins out 4 games was good but looking at the teams we played, Newport were in poor form, Cambridge were in disarray with poor form and a managerial change, a draw in the middle against Tamworth, a team we should have been beating and now this poor result. I realise this is the usual doom and gloom that people don't like to see just because we've lost one game but I do feel that I'm being realistic here and I don't think we'll be in that top 5 come the end of the season I'm afraid.

Agreed - It's where I thought we'd be at the start of the season anywayrushden_siy wrote:were a mid table/ top 10 side, and thats it.
Today was poor. We could have done with more attacking ideas, which I think we lost when Michael Stone left.
Re: Match Thread v Gateshead
when JE first came here he was more flexible and would not only change players but also our shape to respond to the opposition and to affect the game. We were over run in midfield for much of the first half and they played deep in the 2nd to protect their lead. We seemed to lack ideas, most balls into the box were meat and drink for their CBs and again we lacked any real width.
Shame Charles went off injured as he was a refreshing sub and our only genuine wide player.

Absolutely pathetic. I have been patient throughout the season but I lost it a bit when their second went in.
Only Az, Porter and maybe Power seemed to play with any urgency, all the defenders are not tackling and make stupid errors, mis placed passes all over the place.
Farrell is a waste of space and Corcoran is not a CB.
It was good to see Sharif get on though

Your right about the misplaced passes, but i think Power was the most guilty of this. Agree about Farrell - time to go my friend! :roll:Steve wrote:Absolutely pathetic. I have been patient throughout the season but I lost it a bit when their second went in.

their second goal was a shocker. two on one, time to clear it to any corner of the ground and we tee it up for them.
we really don't know how to unlock a team. the frustrating thing about it all was, gateshead weren't really any threat.

I'm waiting for UttoDiamond to come online and tell us it was a world class performance, and that automatic promotion is almost a given.
