At least now we can probably accept that we won't make the play-offs and maybe Justin can start looking towards next season, maybe trying some new players and formations in the remaining games...like 4-4-2. He might as well start cutting the squad, namely Farrell and Osano and try and secure Oshodi for next season. This won't do much for our already crap attendances but it might mean that we can hit the ground running next season, rather than the sluggish starts we've had in the last 2 years.

Re: Match Thread v Gateshead
The crowd was always going to be crap, lots of people would have made other plans, some may not have known it was on and pretty much zero away support.
Dire performance, Gateshead did a job on us. They worked hard, closed us down quickly and hit us on the break well - no problems with the result, they deserved it, they earned it - we deserved what we got, nothing !!
We'll bounce back though, I understand JE isn't a happy bunny and there is the possibility of some new faces very soon.
Disappointing, but we're still in contention for the play-offs, but they were always an outside bet anyway. I don't mind losing, but the manner of the defeat today was very disappointing, especially given our recent good form, albeit against poor opposition.
Hohum, onwards and upwards as they say - still think we'll finish about 10th, which is about right for where we are at the moment. Some poor individual performances today and a few players letting themselves down bigstyle - sad news is I hear Ryan Charles and Sam Smith will be out for a few weeks, shame for both of the lads.

We'll win our next game or two and suddenly we'll be cert for playoffs. Most of you really are a bunch of fickle comedians.

I am lead to believe that a lot of gentlemen will be in training tomorrow to give them a chance to repent fro their sins today. very apt it being a Sunday
Re: Match Thread v Gateshead
Nice. Maybe they can go to church on the way back and confess their sins too ;)

There's no law against that is there, it's football? We're only mirroring our team really. We're ANDREX, soft soft soft :lol:RiK2006 wrote:We'll win our next game or two and suddenly we'll be cert for playoffs. Most of you really are a bunch of fickle comedians.
I think we looked poor yesterday, lost control of the midfield after 15 mins, never competed enough for 2nd balls, poor poor shooting from the edge of the box, too much passing sideways or backwards (I thought Steve Stott was back  )and very little invention/ movement leading up to their box. Once again Osano's defending was non-existant pretty much when it mattered (but he was ok attempting to go forwards), both goals came from his side again. In fact their second goal was roundly applauded where I was standing, a very well taken effort.

Who is going to score games in the next 3 or 4 games?I don't doubt Aaron will score a few whilst Smith and Charles are gone but we can't fully rely on one striker, Gash and Farrell are useless and so even though we saw very little of Sharif yesturday he deserves to start ahead of farrell and Gash will have to be kept on since there is no replacement but his is shocking to.
I just hope Smiths injury now doesn't effect his chances of a new contract in the summer as it expires then.

Sharif deserves to start? I don't think so...I think we'll see a couple of new faces this week to help fill the gap left by Smith and Charles .
