Re: SUPPORT
I'm sure it has been done before, but what about a bottle/box for peoples loose change in the strikers bar? I'd be happy to put mine in if it went towards helping the club. Every penny helps.

Re: SUPPORT
That's a fund raising idea. However, this thread is about actually getting more folk through the turnstiles on match days.diamondgeezer1 wrote:I'm sure it has been done before, but what about a bottle/box for peoples loose change in the strikers bar?

You should start selling your music collection. It's basically antique
Althought I wonder what a LP original verison of My-Ding-A-Ling by Chuck Berry would bring in now days ;)

With regards to getting more people through the turnstiles, a while ago I was in the Cons club in Rushden, and noticed a poster for the cobblers.
Thought it was strange having a cobblers poster in a RUSHDEN pub, but then it was obviously put up by cobblers fan in the bar.
The point i'm making is, maybe that is something we could do? I'm not aware of the advertising rules in pubs (doubt there are any) but it would make people aware that there is a game on etc.
Would probably get ripped down by the cobblers supporter though!!!

That's been mentioned before and it shouldn't be up because it's our area.diamondgeezer1 wrote:

You could ask if you could put posters for Diamonds games. I've just put one together for this Saturday's game using the template on the OS:

Re: SUPPORT
I was to young to remember how many regular fans we had in the division 2 days, but looking at the OS it seems to be around 3500, looking at the attendances for this season, it really does not make a good read. I appreciate the economy is not the greatest at the moment, and we are playing non-league football, but I wonder where have these fans gone?
Fixture congestion, cold weather and "big games" on TV must cost the club about 200-250 fans at the moment, furthermore we are not really playing for anything at the moment, so hopefully towards the start of next season attendances will rise again. If not... it will be horrific.
If the club advertise upcoming games in the local towns etc the income from 100 fans via the advertising would more than cover the costs would it not? So what is stopping the club?
As a new idea that has not been raised how about this...?
Family/group deals:
Two adults + two children (14 or below) for £25. This does not have to necessarily be a family, it could be a parent and their child plus some family friends.
A group of four mates for £20-£30 (depending on age) Adults £30, Teens £20
If we were to bring these ideas forward for the 2011-2012 season, then we have options for the following season. Either keep it how it is if the club has made a greater profit from this season, or if the income has decreased but attendances have increased then scraps my ideas and go to the current ticket arrangements. The people coming to matches through my idea would have likely enjoyed themselves whilst watching Rushden (if the team are playing well) so would hopefully be willing to pay a little more the next season, meaning that attendances will have increased yet the ticket prices are the same price as they were two seasons ago.
Not entirely sure how clear this is, if your confused just ask

Re: SUPPORT
The rest of your post is a good read btw, but to answer the above, I get the impression it really is down to lack of manpower and volunteers to spare. If people could volunteer to go out and advertise it would very likely be taken on board.HiHoRushden&Diamonds wrote: If the club advertise upcoming games in the local towns etc the income from 100 fans via the advertising would more than cover the costs would it not? Re: SUPPORT
Once again I bring to the clubs attention the lousy fixtures board on the A6 at the front of the club,I drove past there yesterday with my brother in law and asked him to look at the board to see who we were playing today, he admitted that he couldn.t read it in time.(and no I wasn,t speeding), A decent board at an angle showing the fixtures on both sides would surely be a help to the club and entice a few more nuetrals when a good game is iminent. ;)Mad Dog wrote:The rest of your post is a good read btw, but to answer the above, I get the impression it really is down to lack of manpower and volunteers to spare.
