Re: Wrexham Match Thread
Wrexham's goal was bizarre. The initial header by Mangan (it should never have got that far) was tipped onto the bar by Joe Day, flew about 3 metres up in the air almost totally vertically, dropped down right underneath the bar and the spin took it in from the bounce. About 3 of our defenders were guilty of just staring up at the ball.
I just read on the BBC that our goal came from a Wrexham goalkeeping error which wasn't the case. It was simply a great cross and a bullet header from Huke into the net. After that Paris missed a glorious chance to grab our second when he somehow failed to connect with a header when he was totally unmarked about 5 yards out. But the last 20 minutes we hung on to say the least. Joe Day was outstanding during this period.
Neil Cousins warmed up with the players before the game.

A bit too far was some of their fans gobbing on our bus as we left...

Well, "Get your norks* out for the lads", aimed at a couple of fifteen year olds, was a lowlight in that particular exchange, wouldn't you say?Rushdenjim wrote:Like? ;)Olly wrote: some of chants directed at the scum to our left might have gone a bit too far though
