As said earlier, it was Live TV. I remember watching the game, it came on about 5.30 ish on a Saturday. I remember Collins having a few chances, but we were tonked! Being able to watch was one of the perks of NTL in Stafford, the same company as in Northants but we didnt have the Rushden bit.
I think the channel was something to do with the Daily Mirror, but I might be wrong on that.
Twas Northants TV availble on the NTL network (later to become virgin media), however some games were also broadcasted on Live TV (famous for topless darts......apparently!!!), with Andrew? Bodfish on the comentry, with such classic quote as "lept like a dementic salmon" we used to sing "manky knob fish" in the PDB, you could hear it on the commentry sometimes. if memory servers me right the games was about four miles away due to the running track around the pitch, recorded most of these games on VHS, however as i do not have a chs player anymore they are gathering dust.
Still Say that Van Der Veldan had the most amazing ball control of any player at our club.
