Spot on there but money gets success . And we won't have it next season, unless this NVQ thing does well then we won't have to rely too much on season ticket sales or cash on turnstiles to get the money.sussexdiamond wrote:in my experience only one thing improves crowds. A winning team.
To the great majority it does not matter how those wins are achieved. If after say 6 games any team has six wins on the board then the casual observer sits up and takes notice.
If they come along and discover we have a Tomlin or Jackson that is merely icing on the cake.
Success breeds success.

My post was mainly tongue in cheek, hence all of the associated emoticons. I agree with a lot of what you're saying on this post though. As you're not a fickle fan we'll see you at the far post no doubt next season?Zippy wrote: Not using any previous reasons not to come. The price and the performances are still very much a present aren't they? People aren't going to flock paying £17 just because they've been dropped for next season. We will only see the impact at the start of next season. The performances are still inconsistent and usually poor for whatever reason people decide on, young team, players out, lack of support etc etc. I didn't quote £20, actually reads nearly £20. Not sure what football your comparing the current football to as better than its been as you don't comment or look back on the past? Piss this league next year, I don't think  Even if we sign some really big names or get a really good squad together, we won't piss this league. We could challenge next year but not piss it.

Even that doesn't always work. Our attendances last season were still very poor for a team doing as well as we did. A fact JE alluded to at the fans' forum.sussexdiamond wrote:in my experience only one thing improves crowds. A winning team.

There was one occasion when we saw attendences really rise for a non derby/playoff/big game last season. Unfortunately it came against Crawley. I think we got in the region of 1700 home fans.davealbon wrote:Even that doesn't always work. Our attendances last season were still very poor for a team doing as well as we did. I think if we have a season next year whereby we hit the ground running with good football, with a bit of marketing and the lower prices people will come back.

That did come after amazing performances against K*ttering and AFCW though. So I agree, with a bit of good form and the new prices people may start to come back. If they don't we're fucked. :(Mad Dog wrote:There was one occasion when we saw attendences really rise for a non derby/playoff/big game last season. Unfortunately it came against Crawley. Regarding getting in a famous face to draw in some more fans...
Maybe Mark Wright (The Only Way Is Essex) fancies giving up the glitz and glam of ITV2 to give his football career another try! He's already played for us once, maybe he fancies another go? ;)
Anyone else watch the Season 2 premiere last night

I've only seen a couple of brief clips of The Only Way Is Essex, but his footballing ability is about on a par with his acting ability, from what I saw.ID wrote:Regarding getting in a famous face to draw in some more fans...
