If it was a few quid, a tenner, hell even £20, then i'd do it. But i'm not throwing £300 down the toilet. I spoke to some people at the game yesterday who said exactly the same. Two of Diamonds wrote: IF people hold their money back the club has NO CHANCE of survival. If it looked like we would make it to next season, i'd rather pay £330 on the eve of the first game than pay £300 quid now.
Whilst your correct in what you say, if you're willing to spend £300 right now on a season ticket then your either mental or you've got money coming out your arse. I've accused people on here of being tight before for not paying an extra couple of quid to get into games, but £300 is a lot of money to most people.
The club needs to make a statement encouraging people to buy their ST's despite what's going on.

Despite all that is going on i still reckon we will be going part time and slowly die as a football club, we will be just another weymouth. All we need is someone who LOVES football to come here with a bit of money to sort the club out and i cant see us battling for promotion next year either.

The debate about having season ticket money up front is an interesting one. Whilst it is obviously good for the Clubs finances to have the money up front it can be a double edged sword.
Out of our recent attendances probably two thirds would have been season ticket holders, whose admission money has long since been spent. It is because of this that the ongoing gate receipts are far too low to sustain the day-to-day cash requirements of the Club throughout the season.
In an ideal world the Club should bank season ticket receipts in a seperate account and only release these to the general running of the club as the matches progress throughout the season, thereby having the same effect on finances as if everyone paid on the day of the match.
I know this is very unlikely to happen in practice but it would help to avoid the situation that many clubs find themselves in as the season progresses and the money dries up.

The impact of the re-arranged fixtures has been a disaster for us and I suspect many other Conference clubs as I have previously pointed out on numerous occasions. Why the Clubs can't approach the Conference this summer, before the fixture list is decided, and try to get more fixtures on blank Tuesday evenings in the Autumn period I don't not understand. They will be guaranteed better attendances with more favourable weather and not the clash with Champions league knock out stage televised fixtures.rushdenman wrote: Out of our recent attendances probably two thirds would have been season ticket holders, whose admission money has long since been spent. The fixture list pile up has been the worse that I can recall for many seasons.

Steve Beasant, at the Fans Forum, apparently said he preferred money in dribs and drabs throughout the season so he clearly isn't concerned about our fans not committing themselves to a large lump sum season ticket payment up front.therushden wrote:i've already paid for mine but then again i've got money coming out of my arse![]()

People go out and buy brand new cars, knowing full well as they drive off the forecourt it depreciates, but they still do it even though they know it might be a dud. The footy club is no different if you're passionate about it.
